Meh

Their vegan mac n cheese is macaroni soup. There’s nothing cheesy about it, so please change the name. I wasn’t a fan of the buckwheat waffle, but my husband enjoyed it and the cashew cream was really good.

Pizza was good!

Green shroom pizza was unique and tasty. Not quite phenomenal though. Lots of vegan options. Ventura is pretty sad when it comes to vegan options these days and this might be the best bet.

Good Dinner - Not so good dessert

I do not eat at restaurants that serve toxic body parts from tortured sentient beings, no matter how good their "vegan options" may be. However, on occasion I (reluctantly) will eat at restaurants that serve the toxic effluvia of tortured sentient beings - BUT, with rare exceptions, they will never get more than 3 stars in my review.

A few months back I really wanted vegan pizza, and after a disaster in Ojai, a friend and I decided to try Harvest Cafe for their vegan pizza. We ordered the vegan versions of the Harvest Pizza, and the Green Shroom Pizza. Both of these were very good.

We also ordered the Swedish meatballs. It was good, but I would have preferred mashed potatoes with gravy, rather than roasted potatoes. The lingonberry jam was amazing.

For dessert I ordered two slices of cheesecake to go. One was chocolate, and the other was a fruit cheesecake (maybe lemon lavender). There were three slices of the fruit one in the display case with widely varying sizes - I told the server that if I could have the largest one, I would order it - otherwise I would only order the chocolate one. He agreed to serve me the largest one. However, when I got home and opened the box, I saw that he had served me the smallest one. Also, when I checked my email for my receipt it showed that I was charged more than the price that a previous server had quoted for the cheesecakes. When I ate them, they were only "okay" - so the next time that I go (hopefully soon for their September pizza special) I will probably pass on dessert.

UPDATE 9/30: We went back to Harvest Cafe yesterday. The September Pizza special (Artichoke with mint pesto) was really good. Also, their soup was quite good. I ordered desserts to go - this time we did not receive any misleading information. However, I was still not impressed with the desserts - the "cinnamon pop-tart" was the best. They are all gluten free (and I really like gluten) and tend to be a bit heavy and dry.

Pros: Very good vegan pizza!

Cons: Serves toxic effluvia of tortured sentient beings., Missleading information on dessert prices., Lack of follow through on dessert request.

All around perfect

So happy I stopped in the food was so yummy and clean. Definitely recommend more places like this. Nothing beats fresh and healthy food. Food being health and bring wealth so all budget aside, My mission is always to support clean healthy places and get people the quality over quantity mindset like places. I studied a lot on nutrition and hope this inspires other to take a good look at the places they eat.
I had the gluten free vegan buckwheat waffle and it was very satisfying.
Also the cookies and other items bakery items,
I love places that have rose and or lavender to put in my matcha
I have a lavender matcha iced with oat milk and honey😄

Pros: Calm place, Farm fresh, Clean food

Fast fresh and delish

Driving through and stopped in a for a quick bite. I got the burrito bowl with jackfruit and cilantro lime dressing. And a chocolate chip cookie. Delicious! Indoor/outdoor seating. Limited street parking could be challenging.

So yummy and cute

I stopped by Harvest Cafe on my way through town traveling to LA to grab something to-go. I got the quinoa bowl and a chocolate chip cookie. All of their baked goods are vegan which was a pleasant surprise!

The quinoa bowl was a 10/10, just what I was looking for after a long day on the road. And the cookie was so fresh and good for a nice sweet. Wish I could visit again but definitely recommend for those who can!!

Pros: Many vegan options , Friendly staff , Lots of seating

Cons: More expensive

Yummy food in cute, casual atmosphere

I love Harvest Cafe - it’s my kind of food. Mostly vegan with some vegetarian (and vegan options are always available). Fresh, local ingredients and interesting seasonal menu items. It’s my favorite healthy brunch place in Ventura. Great smoothies and coffee bar too. They also carry delicious treats from a couple different local vegan, gluten-free bakers.

Pros: Great vegan, gluten-free options, Fresh local ingredients , Friendly staff

Cons: Only open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays

We had a very nice lunch here. It did take 30 min to get it, the sign said a 15 min wait. I ordered the Caesar salad that was a Special, very good and my hubby enjoyed the burrito bowl. #Veganuary

Great Food/Atmosphere/Staff

The vibe is great; industrial meets sustainable. The staff was great. I was craving a waffle, and the vegan buckwheat was filling. The fruit was fresh, and I didn’t feel overly stuffed after finishing the whole plate. I had the matcha latte with cashew milk with the waffle; it was a nice balance with the sweetness of breakfast. I also had hot chocolate, which was delicious. It was light, not thick.

Great atmosphere!

Spent the afternoon doing some work at Harvest Cafe and had a wonderful meal. Tried the harvest pizza and buckwheat waffle (both vegan). The waffle was SO good - not too sweet and very large. Loved the cashew cheese on the pizza but felt it was a little small for the price. The cafe has a nice atmosphere and is very big, plenty of tables and a great place to get some work done.

Pros: Many vegan options, Great wifi to work in cafe, Friendly staff

Cons: A little pricey

Farm to table excellence!

This place knows what’s up!
Even though they were slammed for Labor Day weekend, they served people even after they were closed! The staff kept friendly and worked very hard to pull off great food! It’s a great operation and I wish there were more restaurants like this!
The food is healthy and filling and I’m just totally impressed by the entire process.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Healthy/organic, Great staff!

Very expensive even for CA!

I stopped her for breakfast while in town. I was really disappointed. It cost almost $30 for one person for a very simple breakfast. I originally wanted the vegan waffle but they were out so I opted for the Nut Butter Toast. I assumed it would be either 2 slices or one of those large slices of thick bread similar to sourdough. I also ordered a smoothie and a Golden Latte. My order came out and I was shocked. Every item was super small. The smoothie was the smallest smoothie I have ever had. It was one very small piece of Toast. It was like a small piece of sandwich bread from the grocery store. Then the toast had a ton if bananas on it which I despise so I couldn't even eat that. It just listed fresh fruit not specifically banana. For almost $30 I was highly upset. I'm used to higher prices living in Las Vegas and coming to California often but this was very high. The food all tasted decent but nothing special. I wish I would've drove further south to a better place.

Cons: Expensive , Small portions

All Organic!

I love that Harvest Cafe is all organic and offers quality ingredients in each dish. Although not entirely vegan, most of the menu is vegan with many gluten free options as well. This place is a huge win for vegans who are very health conscious. Everything I've tried here has been delicious and felt good and healthy. The parties and coffee are great, and they also have lattes etc. Lots of options here!

The presentation is beautiful so it's a nice place for a date too!

Pros: Organic / healthy, Presentation 👌

Cons: Pricey but well worth it

As good as it gets

I’ve had lots of great breakfasts in my life, and yesterday’s buckwheat waffles and mushroom toast were as good as any other breakfast I’ve had.

Super tasty and without nightshades, gluten and dairy! (Now, if they would just avoid adding sugar to the waffle mix - which is totally unnecessary - it’d be perfect!)

The place is a bit pricey for me for more than an occasional splurge, but to get such great organic gluten-free food, I guess that’s just the price required these days.

I wish there was a Harvest Cafe near me (San Diego), but next time I’m in Ventura, I might have to get one of their amazing sounding smoothies.

Pros: Ingredients , Nourishment , Taste

Cons: Price, Far from me

Great drinks, subpar food

Food is overpriced for how much flavor is lacking in most vegan dishes. Great drinks and dog friendly patio makes for a better experience.
