Disappointing - Edit
I really wanted to like this place. I booked for my birthday, packed the car with my family and drove the hour to get there - fine though, I'd studied the menus, read the reviews, I knew it was going to be good.
Read moreThe pub itself is lovely, great garden and play area and obviously all Vegan!
However, we were given the menu, which was pretty basic - sunday roast, nachos, pasta, salad or burger, but all with a slight "twist".
I asked about the kids menu, showed them on my phone, from the website ... they don't do that any more.
I asked if they could just have chips and vegetables, received a glazed look and - "I'll give you a few more minutes" so settled for a small burger, no cheese or sauce and a small roast for children, plus a bowl of chips as back up. I ordered pasta and other adults ordered the remaining chickpea roast (no nut roast available today), plus starters.
My courgetti starter was good!
The rest was mediocre at best and a struggle to get the children to eat. The burger came slathered with cheese and burger sauce. The chips were dark brown and inedible. They ate some of my tomato pasta. The roast potatoes were overcooked, the cauliflower tasted of flour and turmeric paste, none of it was suitable for children.
In short, had I known there was no suitable food for children and no option to adapt the adult mains, I wouldn't have trekked there on my birthday to be disappointed by a stressful meal, sub-par food, but a pretty Vegan pub.
Pros: Lovely garden and play area, Pretty pub, lots of space, Fact that it's all Vegan
Cons: No children's menu - as advertised online, Overcooked chips and roast potatoes, Pretty basic food for price

Yummy good & nice ambiance - Edit
So cool, a fully vegan pub! We had the butter tofu curry and it was delicious! For dessert we had the biscoff cheesecake and the traditional hot chocolate. Both also so good! The staff was very kind, we didn't book and it was packed but they found a spot for us anyway. We'd definitely recommend this place.

Let me add to the positive feedback of this lovely pub. Great environment, service, food and reasonably priced. Looks and feels like a normal country pub and perfectly suited to taking non vegan friends. This will become a regular place for me and my family and probably my friends.

Took the whole family tonight. Youngest lad acused me of trickery as I didn't tell him it was a vegan restaurant. Had a drink in the bar then moved to the restaurant. Very well looked after. We had some hummus and mac and cheese to start. Both incredible. Tried to get the cheese sauce recipe but its a secret apparently. Went boring with cheese burgers all round but they were top drawer. Though we were all stuffed we did split the cookie pudding 4 ways. Delightful. I honestly can't fault this place, hard as I try. Great place for fussy eaters and non vegan folk. Feels just like a traditional pub. Lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Fantastic Food - Edit
The every changing menu is gorgeous in every iteration, everything I've eaten here is just heavenly. The garden is lovely with lots of tables and a children's play area. The car park is potentially a little small but I've never had an issue. I just wish it wasn't a 40 minute drive from me so I could go more often 💚
Read morePros: 100% tasty and locally sourced vegan food, Free Parking , Outdoor dining and play park
Cons: Car park a bit small, When they remove one of your faves from the menu!, There's only one H&C and its too far away from me!

The best food - Edit
Since my boyfriend first took me here I suggest we go back at every opportunity! Food is fantastic, from the sharing platters to Sunday roasts and puddings. Atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing and can sit outside in the garden when it’s sunny. Was also founded by the same people who run a local animal sanctuary!

It is amazing that there IS a vegan pub, and the ambience and staff are lovely, but unfortunately, the food just was not that good in my and my partner’s opinion.

Superb menu, lovely ambience, great staff. We are fairly regular visitors and frequently bring non-vegan friends and relatives, all of whom have come away saying how good it was and would happily eat there again.

Really nice food, lovely staff and atmosphere and very good value. And it’s all vegan. Only problem is deciding what to have (it’s all so tempting - beer included). This has to be the best pub in Wiltshire - a real find!

I had the Sunday nut roast, my partner had ‘fish’ & chips. Both served in good time, both tasted delicious. The portion size is good, but not overwhelming, just enough I felt. A tip for Sunday roast would be a Yorkshire pud or a stuffing ball. I would perhaps have slightly thicker gravy. I’m nitpicking though. The cauliflower cheese was really good. Notable on the fish & chips dish were the tartare sauce and garlic samphire, wow! Would totally come back, intend to be regular! 40 mins from Bristol, 10 mins from Lacock.
