Decent food, a little pricey

Overall we had a great experience, I was nervous about the service from reading other reviews but everyone we met was super friendly. The restraunt itself has a super cool vibe. The food was decent, a bit expensive but worth trying atleast once. I'd recommend getting the pizza for sure. But we very much enjoyed their specialty cocktails!

Decent fast food

Another vegan restaurant in Edinburgh focused on fast food. We had a burger and the fish&chips, good but not mind blowing. The loaded chips were nice, the artichokes however were too oily for my tastes. Anyway, the restaurant is still a nice options for vegans, good service, nice atmosphere and all in all acceptable and all vegan food options.

Ok

We ordered the jalapeño and cheddar cornbread hush puppies and Vietnamese loaded fries to start. The hush puppies lacked flavour, however the loaded fries were amazing. I had the chipotle haggis quesa which was decent. My partner had the no-fish and chips. He said the chips were good however the “fish” lacked any taste. Food seemed over-priced. Cocktails were nice.

Super tasty food!

I got the haggis quesadillas and couldn't be happier about it! Lovely place with lots of options to choose. I was sitting inside and all the food looked great, it's a coming back for me when ever I visit Edinburgh again!

Pros: The workers are lovely, Super tasty Bier!

Lovely cosy little restaurant

Went here for my birthday dinner and everything was delicious. The lighting and atmosphere is so cosy, and the service was great. Would definitely go back.

No food is worth this service

They barely stop short of telling you that you're bothering them by being there.

Pros: The place looks nice

An uncomfortable experience

I missed by bus from Edinburgh so I thought to myself that I would go to a vegan restaurant, discover a little. I stumbled upon Harmonium. I came in alone and I was seated - so far everything’s going well. Unfortunately, I had this waitress that wasn’t at all friendly. I kept smiling and being nice but her reactions were very off-putting. Afterwards, while waiting for my meal, she and other staff members kept staring at me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I was just reading a book, it’s not like I was in any way doing something out of the ordinary.

The food itself was good, had no problems with it. I only had a small plate because I wasn’t really hungry, just wanted to discover. After having paid I once again tried my best being nice and wished the waitress a good evening. She heard me but went along with her business, paying me no attention.

I’ve never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. Honestly, would have preferred the food to suck to this. Definitely never returning, shame.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Not friendly staff

Cool place with a rustic vibe

I went here around Christmas times to try out their Christmas menu! I ordered the three course menu and so did my friends. We picked different starters and desserts so we had a variety to taste from. It was a nice three courser with good cocktails as well! The restaurant gives off a really rustic but trendy vibe and our waitress was lovely! When paying we also got the otpion to donate some of the money to charities, which I think was great! All in all a place I would highly recommend!

Pros: Lots of options, Friendly staff, Rustic vibe

Cons: Bit pricey

unreal food

such a cosy and modern vibe to the place. decent prices but slightly limited menu as if i went back i would personally want something different- but the food itself was amazing!!! had the mushroom scallops to start which set the bar high and then the tofu burger for main and the brownie for dessert to share. would say if you’re going on the weekend it can get busy so wait is longer than usual, about 40 minute wait for us. will be back 100% though, recommend to anyone who’s in the area!!

Favourite vegan food in Edinburgh, service and staff I do not like

I love the food here. The menu is so big and everything I have tried here is delicious.

Staff have always been distant, look tired and no interest in interacting. Food service was slow too - on a no busy afternoon it took us 50 min to receive our mains.

Recommend for the food, service can be improved.

Pros: Delicious food, lots of options

Cons: staff always seem to be exhausted

Birthday treat

Visited for a family birthday meal. We had several different items from the menu and it was all tasty, imaginative and beautifully presented. Our server was very friendly and patient as we can be a bit indecisive! Huge bonus to be able to take our dog out to a restaurant of this level. Thought the prices were very reasonable for the standard of food we received. Would highly recommend and will be back next time we are in Edinburgh.

Perfect place for a nice meal

Harmonium does excellent food in a relaxed restaurant setting. If you're looking for something a bit special in Edinburgh, this is the place to visit. The mushroom scallops are exceptional.

Not good

Maybe I was unlucky but the food i got from the festive special menu looked nothing like the pictures posted by others, my roast had no roast in it, barely any vegetables and the mushroom and sausage pie was just lentils! For £14 I expected a bit more, but as there was no staff checking on us I didn’t have the chance to complain, terrible service on top of disappointing food

A festive cracker at Harmonium

I had Christmas Dinner last week at Harmonium and it was the most festive I’ve felt in a while! I had been to the other Harmonium in Leith, this was my first visit to East London Street. My meal was super tasty - the Seitan smothered in delicious homemade gravy, the veg with cheeze sauce, the perfect roasties - I could happily have eaten this every day in December and not got bored!

Pros: Entirely vegan, huge menu, Chilled venue

Just what we needed

Great to visit a 100% vegan restaurant! We shared the fish and chips and „haggis“ quesadilla, both were pretty tasty. Finished off with the brownie and ice cream dessert. Also tried some beers in between. Staff were friendly and helpful. (Too busy eating to take photos this time)

Warm & Welcoming

As a lone diner, on this occasion, there was a ten minute wait on a busy pre-Christmas Saturday afternoon. The food was worth the wait. I chose Rumbledethump with haggis truffles (potatoes with cabbage and cheese) it was delicious. Staff are attentive but not intrusive.
