Nice option on hawthorne - Edit
Food is pretty good, and it's a nice calm atmosphere. Feels good on a rainy day.

Disappointed - Edit
We went for lunch today at the SE Division. The menu looked fantastic, the restaurant is spacious and attractive. I was so excited but our food wasn’t very interesting, especially for the price. The mac n’cheeze was a pile of macaroni with a meh cheeze sauce - no vegetables or anything else in it except parsley. The banh mi sandwich had generous slabs of tofu but not much flavor.

Really enjoyed the Garden Scramble I had here. A nice serving of tempeh, some vegetables and quinoa with walnut basil pesto and walnuts on top. Really tasty and healthy stuff. Nice interior and outdoor patio. Rest of menu looks great. Excellent spot, highly recommended.

Wonderful food - Edit
We loved our food here! We got the walnut banana pancakes with peanut butter and were very satisfied. They do have optional eggs, but every dish is available vegan and there is no dairy/meat available.

I didn't love their Hawthorne location and am always so much happier going on Division or 23rd now. Seems to keep getting better.

Gluten free/vegan food, and a ton of variety on their menu. We tried 3 things and all was good. Loved the vegan pesto grilled “cheese.”

We were looking for a place for brunch and found Harlow. As others have mentioned, their ordering system is awkward. When you walk in the door you find the menus, so you stand and decide what to order. You pay, and are handed a table number. It feels rushed, and personally I am unlikely to go and line up again if I decide I want another coffee or a dessert or something. We decided on the mushroom coffee, a beet Ruben sandwich, and a ban mi sandwich. They didn’t have soup made so the sides were a choice between salad or chilli. The Ruben was cooked beet slices with sauerkraut and vegan cheese. Messy to eat but somehow the flavours worked. The side of chilli was ready good. Not spicy but certainly tasty. The ban mi was less successful. It was basically tofu with veggies. The veggies did not taste pickled and the sandwich was on the bland side. The side salad was huge and came with a nice ginger dressing. FYI, you are also expected to buss your own table once you are finished eating.

We loved all of our food. My favorite was the jackfruit bowl with Smokey tempeh and brown rice. Also, the mushroom biscuit was worth five bucks. 😄

Hands down the best - Edit
I honestly think this is the best restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, food was flavorful, delicious and quick. I tried the avocado bagel with a side of tempeh. The tempeh was marinated very well and had a very soft creamy texture 🤤 my friend ordered the pesto scramble which was just as yummy. They have a lot to choose from and something for everyone.

Nice but awkward ordering - Edit
This is a pretty restaurant with three separate seating areas. Upon entry there is a sign asking you to order before seating yourself which is a little off putting. We like to have a chance to linger over a menu. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese with chilli and I had a wrap with a salad. We sat in the back, which is a covered outdoor area surrounded by lots of plants with varying levels of health. There is a water station so we were able to get water for ourselves. I have mixed feelings about this. It's nice to have it as needed but it's also nice to have to get up throughout the meal.
Read moreMy husband didn't care for his meal. He said it tasted fine but he felt he picked wrong due to having such a short time to peruse the menu with folks waiting behind us. My wrap was delicious. During the rushed ordering process I waffled between the soup or salad as a side and they ended up bringing me both which was very sweet.
I really enjoyed my meal, the soup was especially delicious! The soup was smooth and creamy, chock full of flavor. We would go again but maybe look at the menu before we get there so we don't feel rushed about the ordering process.
Pros: Food, Dining area options, Menu depth
Cons: Ordering process

95% Vegan - Edit
The food at Harlow is pretty good, and they have so many options, some that are vegan dishes made from whole foods and others with processed meat and cheese alternates. The only problem I have with this place is that, for some reason, they insist on including chicken eggs in a few things. Even their coffee has only plant-based milk options, so I don’t understand why they are fully vegan with the occasional exception of chicken eggs. Very weird to me, and it’s a bit annoying because, if not for that, a vegan customer wouldn’t have to think twice about any of the dishes here.

Cons: So close to being fully vegan, but not quite, Vegan cheese = Daiya

I always get the Outlaw scramble with greens instead of grains with tempeh. It’s always consistent and wonderful. I love their selection of fresh juices, elixirs, and coffee drinks. The ambiance is lovely with all the plants and the area is fun to lurk around art all the local businesses.

Always Coming Back - Edit
I’ve been coming to Harlow since they were Prasad in the former Yoga Pearl space (and Blossoming Lotus there before it). Always love the smoothies (stumble bee is the goat), the pesto scramble with tempeh, the outlaw scramble, biscuits and gravy, walnut flapjacks, and the quesadilla. #Veganuary

Not just for brunch! - Edit
On a weekday evening, or even a weekend afternoon, you can skip the crowds! Consistently tasty and healthful food. My go-to is the urban bowl, however they do wonderful things with jackfruit, and the walnut chorizo quesadilla is very impressive. Highly recommended.

Ride the Barlow to Harlow - Edit
I ordered Tortilla Soup (today's special) and a Mushroom Scallion Biscuit. We received our food only a few minutes after ordering! The soup was hearty, but a little too spicy for me. The unusual biscuit was made of mushrooms, herbs, scallions, poppyseeds and Daiya Mozzarella. It had a firm exterior, but a moist interior, and was served with vegan butter.

Please bring me a chorizo walnut quesadilla - Edit
I've liked everything I have had from Harlow. I'd like to try more of their dishes but I keep ordering the chorizo walnut quesadilla because I love it.
Read moreThey're nearly vegan. As far as I can tell they serve eggs but no dairy (please correct me if I am wrong!) and definitely no meat. There's one smoothie and one juice that contain honey. For all the egg scrambles/bowls/plates you have the option to go for scrambled tempeh or jackfruit instead. Harlow's gluten-free but I haven't missed the gluten at all in anything I've ordered. The restaurant itself is very cute and hanging out there makes me feel much cooler than I actually am.
Pros: Plant-forward, mostly healthy, Delicious, Friendly service
Cons: Parking is a challenge

Cross btwn healthy and decadent - Edit
Was looking for a heavy weekend brunch place and was skeptical of this place being too healthy and clean. No regrets, it's a satisfying cross between the two, portions are large and really flavorful. Biscuits and gravy were really good and rich, while being unique from classic B&G. Pesto scramble with jackfruit was very tasty and huge, and our toddler loved it.

Located in a spot that, while decidedly Instagram-friendly, still has ample warmth and personality, Harlow blew us away.
Read moreThe counter guy / server who oh-so-gently discussed options with the children ahead of line in front of us, radiated care and carefulness. At the end of our time I turned to my boyfriend and said: "I'm sorry, but I love that man."
We had the biscuits and gravy was, rather than a beige-y bread bomb, a perfect potpourri of colors, textures, and tastes.
The smoothie (turmeric and orange something?) was incredible.
The parfait was perfect.
The coffee came in a great big mug that you will probably not need a refill on.
This place has it on lock.
Pros: amazing food, great coffee, kind people
Cons: zero
