Not just for brunch!

On a weekday evening, or even a weekend afternoon, you can skip the crowds! Consistently tasty and healthful food. My go-to is the urban bowl, however they do wonderful things with jackfruit, and the walnut chorizo quesadilla is very impressive. Highly recommended.

Ride the Barlow to Harlow

I ordered Tortilla Soup (today's special) and a Mushroom Scallion Biscuit. We received our food only a few minutes after ordering! The soup was hearty, but a little too spicy for me. The unusual biscuit was made of mushrooms, herbs, scallions, poppyseeds and Daiya Mozzarella. It had a firm exterior, but a moist interior, and was served with vegan butter.

Pros: decor, quick service

Very good and filling bowls

I loved the urban bowl and would absolutely come back to eat here again! The ginger lemon dressing is super tasty and not too strong, almost everything is or can be made vegan.

Please bring me a chorizo walnut quesadilla

I've liked everything I have had from Harlow. I'd like to try more of their dishes but I keep ordering the chorizo walnut quesadilla because I love it.

They're nearly vegan. As far as I can tell they serve eggs but no dairy (please correct me if I am wrong!) and definitely no meat. There's one smoothie and one juice that contain honey. For all the egg scrambles/bowls/plates you have the option to go for scrambled tempeh or jackfruit instead. Harlow's gluten-free but I haven't missed the gluten at all in anything I've ordered. The restaurant itself is very cute and hanging out there makes me feel much cooler than I actually am.

Pros: Plant-forward, mostly healthy, Delicious, Friendly service

Cons: Parking is a challenge

Cross btwn healthy and decadent

Was looking for a heavy weekend brunch place and was skeptical of this place being too healthy and clean. No regrets, it's a satisfying cross between the two, portions are large and really flavorful. Biscuits and gravy were really good and rich, while being unique from classic B&G. Pesto scramble with jackfruit was very tasty and huge, and our toddler loved it.

Located in a spot that, while decidedly Instagram-friendly, still has ample warmth and personality, Harlow blew us away.

The counter guy / server who oh-so-gently discussed options with the children ahead of line in front of us, radiated care and carefulness. At the end of our time I turned to my boyfriend and said: "I'm sorry, but I love that man."

We had the biscuits and gravy was, rather than a beige-y bread bomb, a perfect potpourri of colors, textures, and tastes.

The smoothie (turmeric and orange something?) was incredible.

The parfait was perfect.

The coffee came in a great big mug that you will probably not need a refill on.

This place has it on lock.

Pros: amazing food, great coffee, kind people

Cons: zero

Great Portland spot

Haven’t tried smoothies yet but juice was great. Had the Ruby. I had a tasty bowl filled with veggies, potatoes, tempeh & rice. They give you a large portion so had leftovers. Also have tried mushroom stroganoff and look forward to trying other dishes as I will return!

Atmosphere A+, Food C

Loved the neighborhood. Upscale boutiques, clean streets, felt safe for a single woman. Restaurant was beautifully designed. Clean restrooms. I got the biscuits and gravy. It was just ok. Gravy was good but I had to cut the biscuit with a knife. My chai latte was good and I enjoyed being there. Just wouldn’t go back for the food, or would order something else the next time.

Quite possibly the best meal I've ever had

I got the biscuit and gravy for breakfast on my first day in Portland and while I had heard and suspected that Portland had amazing vegan options... Harlow blew me away!! The veg was so good and cooked so well and I absolutely love Kale so I was excited for how much was in this bowl! The biscuit is huge and tasted amazing and the gravy was delicious. I'm going to dream about this meal for a long time. I am trying to resist going back so I can try other great vegan options but I already failed and went back once. If I lived here I would eat here all the time it was so dang good!! Also loved all of the plants set up inside, great environment!

Pros: delicious, fairly healthy and filling, amazing biscuit

Wonderful dinner

We had a wonderful dinner here. The mushroom stroganoff was very nice and filling. The vegan reuben was very good too, just sloppy to eat. GThe Harlow Salad was great, the kale was well massaged. Service is very friendly. The restarurant is very informal, you order from the counter. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.

Amazing Mac and cheez

The Mac and cheez at Harlow was amazing. I was worried because I don’t like Daiya cheese, but whatever else they add to it totally changes the flavor and texture. It was the best vegan Mac and cheese I’ve had. It was also gluten free, but you’d never know it. I was also excited when my husband asked for “vegan butter” and the waitress only had to ask the cook for butter because they now only use vegan butter.
