Gross - Edit
This place was busy when I went but I found it really disappointing. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was decent, but the "biscuits" were like a stale, hamburger bun cut in half with an Italian or Greek flavour that didn't fit the dish. I also found a hair in my food.
Read moreI had also ordered a matcha latte, but what I received was a matcha tea with a little oat milk. I ended up going to Memento afterward for a better drink and then getting tacos because I didn't eat here.
I wished this place was better since it's all GF and mostly vegan.

Vegan and gluten free bahn mi - Edit
Harlow had so many great options with tons of veggies. We got the tofu bahn mi which came on a yummy, crispy baguette with a fresh salad on the side. Perfect!

I tried the GARDEN SCRAMBLE.🌱✨ You can choose between jackfruit or eggs, and of course I chose jackfruit.🫶You also get to pick brown rice or quinoa, so I went with quinoa.🌾 I chose pesto for the sauce and it was perfect.🌿

Consistently Good Food - Edit
My cosmic lemonade stole the show while we were eating outside! All the food was amazingly good and really healthy. I had about 20 other items I would have happily ordered from the menu! Harlow never disappoints!

Harlow in NW - Edit
Nice having this location on 23rd. Lots of indoor seating and a few tables outside. Menu has plenty of options, most vegan.
Read moreI did notice many dishes have kale, like, a lot of dishes...is this some kind of Portland, vegan circle-jerk I'm out of the loop on? Is it all those snow storms when the first thing to sell out at stores is kale? I will never know, but my brain couldn't ignore what I saw on the menu.
After a chuckle, I ordered the Harlow Wrap with shredded jackfruit, brown rice, and a gluten-full tortilla. It came with a choice of side; I got the salad cuz I'm boring like that. I wish they had something unhealthy like fries, yum...It was really tastey if not a bit too juicy. By the time I got to the second half of the wrap, it was pretty soggy. The vegan cheese was not melty if that is your thing.
Also got a Ginger Soda which was super refreshing.
So many healthy options on the menu, I prefer a little more junk in my diet but overall the food was good, and so was the atmosphere.
Pros: Location, Diverse menu, Lots of drink optikns
Cons: Why so much kale?

Harlow Can You Go? - Edit
Super cute spot. Unfortunately, the person taking orders was the most unwelcoming and monotone experience I've had in a while. Just looked like they hated being there and not a single ounce of emotion. Very off-putting and uncomfortable. Perhaps just a bad day and if so, then damn, leave it at the door. I most certainly wouldn't order from them again if I go back. I would happily wait for another employee. To note, I also had the complete opposite with the person who was going around clearing tables. Very warm, welcoming, and friendly interaction. Made me feel like I was welcomed. Now the food. Everything I had was so fresh. The Banh Mi, however, is an embarrassment to call it that. It is in absolutely no way, shape, or form a banh mi. Slapping daikon and carrots on a sandwich doesn't make it so. With thay said, if you just think of it as a tofu sandwich, it was tasty. Salad was lovely as well. The raw cookies are great, too. Chocolate chip cookie, not so much. It's very dry and just crumbles apart. Of course, try it for yourself and make your own conclusions. Parking is a pain, and they say they're vegan forward, so animal products need to be requested, but like that's so silly. If you're gonna be vegan forward, just be vegan.

Easily one of the best tofu scramble I've had in my life - Edit
The southwest tofu scramble is 10/10 - large protein and packed with flavor! The menu is plant forward so quite a great range of vegan options. Plus plant based milks are the default here!

Cozy spot! 🥪 - Edit
This cafe is such a nice place to hang out and read a book with some hearty food. I enjoyed my pesto grilled cheese with chili. Wish it were more clear what exactly on the menu is (or can be made) fully vegan.

A cute little plant paradise. The Chili Bowl was delicious and the wellness toddy was much needed with the dreary weather! A nice spot on 23rd. 🖤 #Veganuary

The Seasonal Pasta included butternut squash, mushroom, sage, and walnuts. I enjoyed the creamy and crunchy mix. Unfortunately, several tables were dirty, but two of the employees were busy chatting with each other rather than cleaning.

The great nourisher - Edit
My favorite in Portland, vegan or otherwise--so delicious, wholesome and nourishing--and the vibe is so right on, with a staff that's present, fun and true. My absolute favorite is a Betty Bowl--hits the spot every time. I have but one complaint: the gluten-free cookies are often dry as dust!

Fantastic vegan meal - Edit
So after reading all the reviews on Yelp talking about how crowded and expensive it was, I was really pleasantly surprised. There was no one there on a Thursday morning about 10:30 AM, I thought the food was very reasonable, we had the biscuits and gravy with a side of tempeh (13.25 plus 4), Powerhouse Parfait (8.50), Avocado Bagel (10). The biscuits and gravy was huge and could easily be a second meal. And it was so good!
Read morePS we came back on another morning it was so good. And the reviews saying that it was too crowded etc. I don't understand because even on Easter Sunday, well they were a lot of people coming here there were still available tables. Today's meal was just as good as the last.
