Salt! - Edit
Hard Rock has a separate vegan menu. What I do not have is a separate stomach for salt, which is what I would have needed to eat the inedible chips which accompanied by SEVENTEEN POUND (£) hotdog.

Hard rock chain - Edit
I have visited a couple of times and I won’t be rushing back. Yes the decor and the music is good. The staff were decent. There is a separate vegan menu which is a plus. Probably a okay venue of eating with a mixed group of Omnis/veggie/vegan. The cocktails were made to a high standard. Sadly the food is just a bit basic for the price. There are many other places I would rather dine at in the area.

Good to know. Think I’ll give it a miss, have been intrigued about going. They’re obviously offering vegan because they have to

Poor quality overpriced food - Edit
Yes they have a vegan menu, but I still can’t get over the poor quality of the food for the prices they charge.
Read moreI had vegan fajitas (£17) which was a huge dump of green beans with a few mushrooms and red peppers thrown in. Didn’t taste like any spices or flavour to it.
Yes portions are huge, but this disappoints me as wastage is massive too. I ate as much as I could but still more than half left.
Other half had the jackfruit chilli which I tasted. Very average. Spicy but didn’t taste of much else.
Service was average. Had to try to get waitress attention a few times. I’d put on the booking it was a birthday and needed 2 vegan menus. Still had to ask for the menus and only given one. No acknowledgment of the birthday.
Overall I’ll not be back to any Hard Rock. I went to the Manchester one a few years ago and had same experience. Totally overpriced and underwhelming.
Pros: None
Cons: Poor quality food, Overpriced , Average service

Great vegan selection - Edit
We have been to Hard rock several times since it opened and the constantly updated vegan menu is great. The Bruschetta starter and hot dog main are particularly good.

Love HRC, dislike the service here - Edit
I went in the weeks that the restaurant opened and there was only one vegan option at the time, it was good they offered vegan cheese and mayo for the burger but this wasn't clear on the menu (but I was pleasantly surprised). The deco is cool as you would expect from a HRC. Portions very generous and cocktails delicous. I note they have since offered a full vegan menu which I am yet to try, but will update once I do.
Read moreUpdate from visit 14/02/22: the new vegan menu is much more extensive than the previous and I really do appreciate the effort. However, after the service we had at our valentine's visit I cannot not reduce from 4 stars to 3. We had a booking at 9:30pm, we had a wait for our table, no vegan menu given, had to ask twice till I got given it. Our drinks took more than half an hour to get to our table, we didn't have a drink until 10:15, 45 mins after our booking and food came about 10 mins after that. I had the vegan hotdog which was OK, a bit bland and the chilli a bit watery. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt given if was valentine's and as we love HRC, we will probably give it another try - maybe just for a drink.

Food was great, might have tasted extra good because of the 13.1 miles ran just before!

Full vegan menu - Edit
Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle introduced a full vegan menu in December 2021. Loved the sliders, hot dog and chocolate caramel tart.
