Expensive and limited - Edit
The vegan options are limited to pretty much hummus, falafel and salad. Which is fine but that with 2 glasses of water and a mint tea came to over £30 which felt a total rip off. It is right in the tourist hot spot so can't expect less really but if I'd of got a better handle of lira before going in I probs wouldn't have bothered. The staff were friendly but also as a solo women one guy was overly attentive and started the whole 'you're so beautiful ' routine 😒

Pretty nice location, okayish food - Edit
There weren’t many vegetarian and even less vegan options! The champignons in the veggie casserole weren’t fresh and we got stale bread:(

Great vegan-friendly restaurant - Edit
I visited Harab'be Cafe with my omni parents.
Read moreThe staff were very friendly, spoke great English and understood veganism.
I ate two entries, stuffed grape leaves and hummus with pita, and both were tasty. I couldn't even finish these two as they were quite good portions.
As a farewell gift, each of us got a small glass of lovely Turkish tea.
Pros: Tasty vegan entries, Friendly staff, Good prices
Cons: Not a lot of vegan main dishes

Relax & enjoy mezzes near Hagia Sophia - Edit
The neighborhood of Hagia Sophia ia full of tourist traps, which makes Harab'be Cafe extra special. It is tucked away in a pedestrian street away from the noise and crowds. The setting is super comfy: you will be sitting on soft, big, cushions and you'll get the feeling of flying off on a magic carpet. I had hummus and falafel which I thought were OK, until I found out from other reviews that they werent vegan! This is the first time I hear that falafel can be not vegan. Oh well. Anyway. Cocktail was a bit too sweet for my liking and also they brought a tatsiki with the falafel that I didnt order. Staff are very nice, service is fast, it is a great spot to relax and it stays open late!

What was not vegan about them? I remember some places put cheese inside the falafel.

I really dont know! There was no cheese for sure. And I thought they tasted ok, and that they were vegan. But after I left, I saw Salomerak review, that falafel are not vegan... perhaps next person who goes can ask so we are sure? It is a really nice, cosy place.

Okay good to know. Yes, always best to ask, just in case. I learned that also the hard way. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe we had a bad experience - Edit
Went out of our way to find the restaurant and ended up disappointed and hungry! We asked if we could order food and menus were brought over. We ordered our drinks which took around 20 minutes to arrive and both were wrong. We then desperately tried to order some food but to no avail. It was around 9pm, others were eating and we'd had a long, tiring day of exploring so after a further 30 minutes we requested our bill.

Very cosy place with excellent food - Edit
Harab'be cafe is a hooka (shisha) cafe that serves excellent meals. We really enjoyed our veggie meal and price/quality was superb. Very friendly atmosphere, I recommend this place 100%.

Very cool place - Edit
The menu was quiet a classic Turkish menu. I had a veggie pide with vegetables on top and a plate of mezze. The menu is translate in English and they talk English. The outside is just stunning, it’s a very nice place to have a hookah. And the staff is very friendly.

OK- nothing to go out of your way for - Edit
Food was OK but nothing was specified as vegan, there are a few salad options as well as traditional Turkish meals like dolma and beans, but you could find these options at any restaurant in Istanbul. Waiter looked confused when I said I was vegan, seemed like they only really cared about getting us to sit down at their restaurant. We were offered cay at the end for free which was nice.
