Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian cuisine with some vegetarian dishes. Ask which are or can be vegan (without dairy, paneer, ghee). Open Mon-Sun 17:00-23:00.
Please don't go here. It's extremely bad Indian food. I only heard the bleep of a microwave coming from the kitchen and the food was frozen. The only thing I tasted were spicy and nutmeg. Never again.
only 1-2 vegan option, food okay but not outstanding - Edit
The stuff is really friendly and knows what vegan means. Communication works in English but is a bit difficult to unterstand.
I had Papadam with 3 kinds of different vegan sauces, a salad and some mixed vegetable plate with an Indian sauce where they didn‘t add the cream they usually would add. The second option would have been something with spinache and potatoes. Those are the only vegan options I got offered. None of these are on the menu. You have to ask the stuff for vegan options.
Overall I have eaten many Indian vegan dishes in other cities (for example „Indian Mango“
in Munich) which were a lot tastier than what I‘ve got here, so I wouldn‘t come back to this place. But there aren‘t too many other restaurants in this area. :-(
I took my mother out for dinner in this restaurant, as it was the only one listed to have vegan options... which is usually the case with Indian restaurants, as there's lots of vegetarian options and cream can usually be replaced with coconut cream. However, Handi was disappointing. My non-vegan mother had a fantastic (but unethical) dish, my veganized dish was very marginal. They didn't have anything creamy and vegan, so the sauce was just thin and water-based with a few herbs. Not a curry it all. It was just some dry rice and a bunch of vegetables with some spices and herbs on top of it... even if I cook something quickly for myself when I don't feel like cooking it's more exciting than what I got presented here.
In short, this restaurant isn't interesting for vegans at all. Vegetarians, maybe.
