Delicious, quick, great ambience

I went here with a friend last weekend had stuffed myself – three very solid passes at the buffet. When you sit down, they serve you a pair of little soups; one green-veg and one sort of sesame porridge. Both are very nice. Then it's time to fill your plate. They have both 'five grain rice' and brown rice with chickpeas. Sooooo many dishes to try. I thought going in it was a Chinese style place but I think now it's Korean vegetarian/temple food. I loved the little pancake slices, the tofu with spicy vinegar(?), and several veg dishes I can't name. The lady also presented us with some lotus root. There is some fruit for dessert. It's 13,000w each, so more expensive than a couple of nearby options. I loved it, though. If you're hungry, definitely come here. In fact, just come here. As a vegetarian or vegan or veg-curious you can't lose. It's delicious and healthy. They also sell some veggie supplies, like flax seeds, beans, etc.

Pros: Delicious, Choice, Lot of food

Cons: A bit pricey

Sad that they don’t do dinner anymore.

I also really liked this place a few years back. The selection of the food and the variety was very nice. It’s just really sad that they do not do dinner anymore and close quite early …

Very convenient

The food is not extraordinary - actually a little bland at times. But still tasty, and definitely worth a visit. The buffet-style makes it great value for money and easy to pick what you want to eat. And since everything is vegan, it is all the more effortless. With the place being underground and rather calm, it is overall a convenient experience, removed from the city's buzz and usual struggle around finding or ordering vegan food.

Very charming, very good

As a starter you get sesame rice and a soup with tofu. You can then take whatever you want from the buffet. We paid 17‘000 Won per person, which was reasonable. We were very happy with the delicious food and the welcoming owners.

Homely wholesome buffet

A wide selection of delicious homemade Korean dishes, with my favorites being a black sesame porridge, a vegetable soup, scallion pancakes, kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, a fake meat stew, and much more. The woman and man who run the place seemed to deeply care about their food and guests, with a level of dedication that I've never seen before!

Homemade Korean dishes buffet

My boyfriend and I went there for lunch, and we were the only ones there. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. If you are simply interested in Korean home cooking, I’d recommend it.

Good basic homemade korean buffet food

Vegan Buffet place with basic korean food which is handcooked by the owners.

Dishes ranging from soups, rice, veggies, vegan beef, Kimchi and pickled veggies, salad and some sort of dessert.

Everything well made. Taste is ok and good but nothing super outstanding.

Good place for filling up stomach with a broad variety of food to try.

Owner rushes when coming in and serving soup and a bottle of water.

Very good value for money.

A litte bit hidden: Take the stairs downstairs.

Still a recommendation when struggling with vegan food!

Pros: Broad variety, Buffet

This buffet is a great value

My husband and I came here twice while on vacation. This buffet is a great value. Some of the offerings include mung bean pancakes, jap chae, beef bulgogi. It is very affordable, and there is a lot of food. The food is all very good. The only thing though is that it is very oily.

Pros: affordable, good value, a large variety of korean food

Cons: oily

Healthy buffet

Update 2023: Since the covid pandemic, the kimchi here is sometimes not vegan!!! A friend of mine also saw fish cake here once. Tell staff that you are vegan to make sure they point out non-vegan dishes to you.

This restaurant is a buffet, which offers Korean food in home-made style. There are no processed mock meats, but soup, stew, porridge and various side dishes of which some feature uncommon combinations or vegetables (e.g. peanut sprouts).

Most ingredients are Korean and not imported.
Considering the fact that they use Korean ingredients and the location is the touristy area Insadong, their price for this all-you-can-eat-buffet seems fair.

The interior represents the taste of the elderly people running this place: Random flowers in vases, a couple of paintings, patterned table cloth. Nothing fancy. Colorful and homey.

Authentic and fresh

This temple food buffet is wonderful for those who like to try new things. We ate there twice. So many greens, roots, sprouts, and herbs to try! They start you with a soup and black sesame porridge, and tea. One time they also brought us veggie pancakes. Then there are two kinds of rice (I like the mixed one with beans), and a large assortment of vegetable-based dishes, and one beef-y dish. Everything is excellent, and the buffet format means you can try everything! My favorite was the sprouted peanut stir fry--big juicy sprouts with a peanut on the end, what could be better? (Makes me want to sprout my own!) Such new flavors and experiences--love it!

Pros: Fresh, Diverse plant foods, Great variety

Vegan buffet with large variety of namul

A lot of different banchan made with different kinds of plants. I grew up in Korea and there were a number of banchan I had never tried before. Spice levels are typical Korean level so keep that in mind.

Just what I needed

I only had 20 - 30 min and was exhausted from running around Seoul, when I found this little hidden nugget. At arrival, there were only local folk who seem to go there regularly, which is always a good sign, it didn’t disappoint. Great variety of vegetables, nicely spiced, buffet style. Loved it and left (within 20 min) recharged for the day.

Little hidden Gem

This place is one of the most random yet most wonderful finds in Seoul. The food was just delicious home food / you felt like you were in someone’s home. I loved how we were greeted. The host came and sat us down and gave us green tea and got our starters for us. There may have been a language barrier but it was wonderful how they would motion to us when fresh food was being brought out to the buffet cart. The food was traditional and full of flavour.

Pros: The owners were very kind , Lots of variety , Fresh food

Cons: Would’ve liked sweet treats / unless I missed that

The food is delicious and the place makes you feel like you’re eating at somebody’s house.

Would definitely return.
