Nice burgers with several vegan options

Halifax is a stable go to, because you know it's gonna taste good and there's something for the whole vegan/omni family. They have multiple vegan burger options and they change. They've introduced more vegan options over the years and also introduced vegan cheese and -mayo.

Pros: Variety, Taste

Great variety

There are lots of vegan options. The sweet potato fries are amazing. And you can make your own burger and salad, which is fantastic. Staff was very kind and helpful.

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly staff, Cozy place

Great burger

Comfortable menu, where you can “make” your own burger, choose a bun and a patty. The Berlin burger is great.

Good veg options

From looking at some of the previous reviews, I think the menu here has been improved... everything was clearly labelled at vegan - burger patties, add ons, sides and dips
Tried the beetroot party and the green. Both really tasty and a good texture, rather than the mushy vegan options you often get! Nice pickles on the burger (ordered additional pickled red onion, nice and tangy!) Mushrooms and cheese that come on the vegan Berlin burger were good (kind of plasticky cheese, but like the usual burger slice!!) Plain chips were good, sweet potatoes ones were amazing - so crispy!

Pros: Good burger patties, Clearly labelled menu, Sweet potato fries

Ok if with non-veg friends

Went here for the first time with non-veg friends and I had the vegan choice "Berlin burger" and a rösti patty. I must say that rösti patty was really tasting good, I wish I could make such at home. Yeah the burger wasn't at all bad.
We sat on second floor straight out from kitchen which I did not really like, felt not that fresh with meat kitchen so close and the air a bit thick.

Pros: Rösti patty was very good

Cons: Meat place, Air on second floor thick and not very fresh

Hit or miss

Title pretty much sums up my experiences with Halifax. I've eaten there many times at different locations and it's really great sometimes and a complete miss other times. Usually it's just good.
I don't have any issues with their vegan burger Berlin - I enjoy all three options for the patty and the rest of the burger.
Wouldn't recommend trying to veganize one of the other burger options as I still haven't found a waiter knowledgable about which options are available to you as vegan.
The extras and the condiments are all clearly labelled with veg/vegan, but not the fries which is an issue when the waiter doesn't know and there is no allergy card available (this can be found by googleling Halifax allergikort). *slighty updated to say that they now have the condiments labelled and have added a vegan mayo* - 19.08.2018

Pros: Good patties and vegan cheese

Cons: Uninformed waitstaff, no condiments except ketchup and vegan mayo, Salt & Vinegar fries are not vegan ☹️

Amazing fries

They sweet potato fries are some of the best I've tries, unfortunately no vegan mayo or other dips really. The burger tastes good and they have vegan cheese for it, and it's great that a popular burger place has vegan options.

Pros: Vegan burger

Cons: No vegan dip

the taste is fine, but...

One of the first vegan burger I've tried, the taste is fine, but I wasn't amazed, and I've had better vegan burger, so, not sure if I will revisit.

Good, but...

They basically have one vegan burger and one vegetarian. The vegan one tastes good and there is plenty. They have screwed up my order so many times though (three to be exact). Even though you are ordering a vegan burger you HAVE TO tell them which condiments you want, because they will not think vegan in terms of the entire burger, but only the patty.

Saying you want a vegan bruger is not necessarily enough. Be very specific about what vegan means, because they will not always know. Ask twice rather then once.

Otherwise a nice restaurant with nice and helpful employees.

Didn't like it at all

I ate on one of their restaurants and wasn't happy at all. First of all the waiter didn't understood what vegan was when I asked her about the food, and after I explained I still got a burger with non vegan mayo. They brought me a back a new one but the burger patty was so dry and there wasn't any good choice for sauce to have in the burger. I think I only god like ketchup or ajvar, but still not much enough to make it less dry. I would never visit here again.

Pros: Of course it's nice that they have a vegan choice

Cons: The food, The waiters

Choice of two vegan burgers

Happy Cow won't let me give this 5 stars. I understand why coz it's not 100% vegan, but I'd like to give this place 5 stars. The staff are so nice and take care of you. The price is reasonable. And the pea patty is especially nice. Great for families who are meat eaters and vegans!

Pros: Nice helpful staff, Tasty food, Reasonable prices

Nice but not fair

Thier vegan burger is really delicious.
The only things that annoys me very much is that when you are ordering a vegan burger, you order a "normal" burger but just take a lot of the non vegan ingredients out. Even though you've taken like half of the burger out, you still have to pay extra if you want to add some vegan 'items' in it like dressing - which I don't think is fair.
But else the price is okay, and the potato fries you get beside is amazing.
A good place to go if you're travelling with non-vegan friends/family.

Pretty Good

They pretty much only have one kind of vegan burger, and I still haven't experienced the staff knowing anything about it, and it is pretty pricey. But on the plus side, it is delicious and it's good if you're going out eating with lots of non-vegans, there's options for everybody.

Pros: Delicious, For Everybody

Cons: Pricey , Unknowing Staff

Nice Burger Place

Our waitress was very nice and could tell every item which was vegan. Unfortunately their not that much. The burger was nevertheless very tasty and filling (I skipped dinner after having it for lunch). A good choice to eat out with omnivores

Pros: Tasty Burger

Cons: Few Vegan Topping Options

Great!

Nice atmosphere, although generally busy so come with time. You can choose the type of bread, patty, garnish and sauce for your burger. Specify that you don't want cheese nor aioli when ordering the vegan patty as staff is not so knowledgeable. Overall friendly staff. Affordable.
