Serves meat, vegan options available. Kitchen with a hippie-vibe. Sells some tea, baked goods, and vegetable dishes. Reported to serve meat September 2023. Reported closed September 2024.
I was expecting a lot of vegan options based on the Cafe being vegetarian and having a lot of positive reviews but the only vegan options were a potato and lentil patty, a couscous salad, and a garden salad. The staff member told me that the cake was vegan but was later corrected by another staff member. There were no vegan sweet options at all, which was very disappointing after reading the glowing reviews. The couscous salad was forgettable and the lentil patty was only ok. I had a hot chocolate with almond milk and it was fine. I honestly would have preferred hot chips for lunch from a pub than what I got.
They implied that there would be more options if I'd arrived earlier but I was there at 130 which I think is still firmly in the lunch period and they had 3 or 4 vegetarian meals and 4 different sweets.
Maybe I just was very unlucky as the menu changes every day? If I'm in Waroona again I'll give them another shot.
Great service, lovely food from pies and pastries to raw balls and salads, great coffee and selection of teas with many choices of milks. I just love the Hairy Lentil.
