Amazing Vegan Options! - Edit
First off, I walked into the food court unprepared, assuming I would end up eating a pile of fries. After searching HappyCow I found this little place and walked on over. Before I could look at the menu the employee asked me if I had any questions first. I told him about my being vegan and that I had a few other food allergies, including gluten. He was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. He ended up making me a falafel and veggie wrap with fresh hummus, fresh veggies, super tasty falafel, tahini, and harissa. On the side, the BEST stuffed grape leaves I’ve ever had (I eat stuffed grape leaves all the time and do not hand out the ‘best’ title lightly. ) It was so great of an experience that I had to go up and thank them a second time. If you’re in the area, PLEASE give these people a try. Next time I’m in the area, I already know where I’m going!

Nestled in the corner of the food court lies the sweetest restaurant I’ve come across since moving to Maine this Autumn. Although it offers a number of Shawarma meat options, I was completely delighted by the Vegan Falafel Platter! Besides the choice of base, of which I went with hummus (alternative choices were Mixed Salad / Rice), there is also a Subway-esque topping bar to choose from. I told them to load me up with whatever veggies they were willing, of note were the Stuffed Grape Leaves, Parsley Salad, and pickled turnips alongside the homemade hummus and Tahini Sauce. The two gentlemen who helped me through my first experience there where very knowledgeable about the ingredients, and surprisingly outgoing during a time when a lot of human interactions feel dull and at times a bit tense. They warmed up my entire day, and left me with a belly full of plant based, mostly whole, foods. I also got the baklava which, though I have yet to dig in to, is mouth wateringly decadent in appearance & smell. There are also salads and wraps which could be filled with falafel and/or veggies! I cannot wait to return, as it was one of the more tasty meals I’ve gotten for less than $10 while up here! All servings are “100%” Halal in regards to cruelty.
