Serves meat, vegan options available. Small gyoza and ramen shop. Has some vegan appetizers, but the owner (although he doesn't speak English) will work with you to cook vegan dishes such as hot tofu Kyoto style and ochazuke with rice. Sometimes they have vegan gyoza. Note: In Japan, kitchens often stop serving 30-60 minutes before closing time, so please call ahead to confirm. Non smoking restaurant. Open Tue-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Beautiful gyoza, wonderful service - Edit

This is not a vegan restaurant, and has a very limited amount of items on the menu to order 'as is' - however the chef/owner was incredibly gracious and understanding, making food for us from scratch that we could eat (he ran through every option he had to make us a meal, even though it was late in the day).
We were presented with an appetizer of leeks and soy sauce, followed by vegetable gyoza (maybe the best gyoza I have ever eaten), cucumber maki and a delicious mushroom & tofu soup.
The meal was simple but delicious and flavourful. It's a small, cosy, 4 table affair, with a local vibe, but for us was the best meal we'd had in Japan so far.
We'll be dreaming of the gyoza for some time...!
