Five stars for a fun atmosphere and yummy gyoza

They have 6 different vegan gyozas, each really good. Seating was at a bar, and the staff was all very high energy (shouting out orders to each other and chanting every time someone leaves), and they all spoke the best English I’ve heard of any locals!

We ended up getting two orders of each of the gyozas between the two of us. They were all great.

(Happy Cow wouldn’t let me rate 5 stars because they serve meat here)

good spot

I enjoyed the gyoza. They had several vegetarian options and some unique choices. The staff was nice and very friendly. I really enjoyed the chocolate gyoza at the end. Not sure about what is vegan, but plenty of options for vegetarians.

One Gyoza type

We chatted with the chef. Only one type of gyoza is Vegan. Yuba Gyoza. The miso in the ingredients is soy based but the miso as condament isn't vegan. Enjoy the bean sprouts and cabbage. ✌🏼

tasty dumplings

Easy to understand English menu and pictures. Staff speaks perfect English. We ordered 4 different types of dumplings and a salad. Great location on main road first floor.

Pros: delicious

Cons: only white people were there

Good place to grab a snack and try gyoza

There are 2 branches of this place - this is the larger, newer one. I don’t think the old one has a veg menu. We went assuming it would be the same and were told to go to this branch.

The non-meat menu has several gyozas on it - mashed potato, tofu/yuba, pickles, mushroom risotto (in broth or with cheese). There are also some small dishes like salad and fried cabbage. I’m not sure the mushroom risotto options were vegan so pls check.

The gyoza were good - we had pickles, tofu and mushroom risotto in broth. I liked all 3 for different reasons. There are chilli oil, miso and spicy miso as well as the standard soy/vinegar dips. Chilli oil worked well with everything in my opinion ;)

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the place is bigger so no queue at 6.30pm unlike the branch 7-10 mins walk north.

Recommended if you’re a vegan / veg tourist in japan and want to try gyoza, but not amazing. Annoyingly there are lots of interesting sounding vegetable options on the main menu that are not veg/vegan... but hey, this is japan.

One last note - they clearly state on their veg menu that they use the same cooking equipment for meat. Worth noting if that bothers you. It bothers me but I assume this happens in most meat kitchens so I just deal with it.

Perfect pit stop for a quick snack

Tried their Yuba Gyoza (freeze dried tofu) and the Shbazuke Gyoza and both were soft, light and deliciously flavorful. Would definitely come back for more!

Pros: separate no meat no fish menu in English , yummy chili oil and spicy miso paste condiments

Yummy but limited!

Maybe I am the only silly person who didn’t realize this place only sold gyoza, but it’s definitely more of a snack than meal location. I left hungy even after trying a couple of the veggie gyoza. They were delicious, but I wish there was more on the menu to enjoy.

Good gyoza

Great dinner option for those in groups who aren’t all vegan/ vegetarian. They have a separate menu for veg gyoza. The tofu and mashed potato gyoza were great.

Pros: good for groups, affordable

Cons: not a huuuge selection
