Glad I tried it - Edit
We ordered the bograc 'beef' stew and dodole potato dumplings. I would have liked the stew to have more beefy pieces or veg but it was a lot of broth and pretty pricey considering. The dumplings were good with the gravy. The picked greens were ok. The food was overall good, but not amazing. Still, I'm happy to have tried Slovenian dishes made vegan!

Good local food - Edit
We had the opportunity to try dodole, which turned out to be a delightful dish. We also sampled jota, a traditional Slovenian stew, but this time prepared with vegan homemade sausages. Unfortunately, the turnip used in the jota was somewhat bland and lacked the strong, distinctive flavor one might expect, which was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, the meal overall was enjoyable, especially for those seeking plant-based options.

Best vegan meal in our life! - Edit
We had the vegan starter plate (10/10, the small one is more than enough for 2 persons), the vegan Bograč (1000/10), the Dödöle tris (10/10 with mushroom sauce) and we payed around 50€.

Some really great food (but stay away from the sausages) - Edit
I always believe that it’s super nice when you can try local food in a vegan variation and I absolutely LOVED my dish! It was the “liver” one, one of the more expensive ones but just great. However the size wasn’t that big and friends tried the sausages and I would recommend to stay away from them as they were rather unsatisfying.

Awesome Vegan Experience - Edit
I have to say this is probably the BEST vegan food I've had the privilege of eating. The culinary skills of the chefs here are pretty amazing. I had the Lion's Mane steak meal, which was pricey but exceptional. Also shared a pot of bograc for entree (again devine) and a delicious chocolate strawberry tarte for dessert. I will definitely come here again if I manage to get back up to this part of the world.

Lovely setting and food - Edit
Went as we wanted to sit outside on the street, and our group of 8 was accommodated well. Lots of vegan options and allergies (as most places in Ljubljana) were notated well. The vegan sharing plate “meats” were dry and flavourless, but the bograč was outstanding and we could have ordered more!

amazing place :) - Edit
get to know national dishes in a vegan and very tasty way! i recommend going here, because trying local food with no animals harmed is always the best thing! the prices are a bit high, but fair for a high-quality, saturating meal.

We went there 2 times in our vacation. It‘s a perfect spot for vegans to get the taste of traditional Slovenian food. Everything we tasted was delightful, perfectly balanced and rich in taste. We are so glad we found this place. The staff is super cool, helpful and offer best service.

Go here if you wanna try traditional Slovenian food, they have many dishes that would be difficult to choose from. Very nice everything we’ve tried. A bit more pricy than others, but totally worth it.

Great Slovenian food the vegan way - Edit
Went with a group of non-vegans. I had the bograč and they had gnocchi. I definitely recommend going for the traditional dishes. The stew was great and you get a lot of food for the price.

From their extensive menu, we had an incredible DÖDÖLE WITH ONION AND CREAM, which we plan to attempt to replicate at home, and a Lion's Mane Steak. Couldn't have asked for more.

Authentic Slovenian veg food - Edit
My partner and I ordered two different sausage dishes (these are not listed online) for lunch. Both came with these little potato cakes, mustard, and a side salad. They were both tasty but I definitely preferred the smoked sausage with horseradish. I wish we were both a bit more hungry to try (and review) other menu items. The portion sizes weren’t that large, but this was fine for lunch. Be sure to book in advance for dinner as this location is very popular even on a week night (a good sign)! It was nice to experience authentic Slovenian vegan food! My only complaint is that vegan options are not clearly labeled. You have to keep track of the numbered allergen list on the side of each dish to ensure your meal is actually vegan.

Nice - Edit
Very nice atmosphere and great service. I had the tagliatelle with vegan ham and it was delicious! It was a bit pricy, €16, but the glass of wine I had with it was only €2. This is not a fully vegan restaurant even though it’s marked as such.

Told Fully Vegan, it is Not - Edit
The food was delicious, BUT we were told by a local tour guide and by the waiter that the restaurant was fully vegan. I was a little concerned when I saw 'goat cheese' on the menu, but after being told by 2 different people that it was fully vegan I assumed a vegan version of cheese. I am sure this was just a translation issue, but please be aware.
Read moreI had the mushroom gnocchi, which was delicious, but I now wonder if it may have had cream/milk in it. The 2 people I was with are both vegetarian, so are less concerned. They both had different sausage dishes and both enjoyed them as well.
Moral of the story... always check Happy Cow first!! Lesson learned.

Traditional Slovenian grub - Edit
A refreshing change from vegan burgers - tasty, hearty dishes. We shared the vegan platter, soup with seitan and potatoes, sausages and mash with a turnip soup. The turnip soup was fabulous so don't be out off! No room for pud unfortunately as they offered some rather attractive options. Ask the water for wine recommendations.

fairly priced traditional vegan food! - Edit
I’m so happy that I stumbled across this little gem on a Sunday in Europe. It’s so hard to find food in general as a vegan let alone on a Sunday. The hospitality was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

Ok but not great - Edit
We had the vegan plate, which is paté and seitan. The patés we're mostly coconut oil and not very good at all. Seitan was ok. The main dish was goulash and was good. Dessert came and was not what we ordered but we were told afterwards that it was because they didn't have what we ordered anymore. Apfel strudel was a bit stale. Wine was ok.

Delicious traditional food - Edit
So nice to be able to try traditional Slavic food without the animal products. We had the vegan plate to start which included ham, three types of coconut fat spreads and bread, and our mains were the pasta with ham and mushrooms, and a steak with a side. All were very heart and filling, definitely not a light dinner but very satisfying, especially on a cold night. We made reservations but a few people did walk up and got a table. #Veganuary
