Quality food, great staff

The food here tastes complex and thoughtfully prepared. When they first got going for dinner the liquid smoke was a bit heavy across the menu but it's since been refined. I love the vibe and ambiance here from breakfast to dinner. It's humming in the morning and quiet and romantic at night. The main server for dinner service is such a delight and I love the way she says gu-ya-la like ou-la-la! She gives great wine recommendations.

Tasty Indulgent Toasties

The truffle mushroom and tofu toastie with cheese swapped to plant-based was delicious! I love a good gooey stringy cheese.

It’s in a lovely location, so close to the esplanade!

Breakfast favourite 🌿

Awesome vegan menu with a great variety of options 🌿 their dirty chai is awesome and the truffle & tofu toastie is my favourite 🙌🌻✨ all of the food is delicious, the staff are super lovely and there are nice views of the waterfront where you can walk off the food afterwards.

Nice cafe :)

Pleasant view of the ocean and beach from the indoor and outdoor seating areas. The mushroom toastie was really delicious. Though, this place was the first time I saw kangaroo on the menu 😔

Inspired food

I had the mushroom truffle tofu toastie with wilted spinach and chilli jam on the side. It has a cult following here in Cairns. It is filling and delicious. The staff here are friendly and efficient

Tofu Truffle Panini!!

For a restaurant which isn't entirely vegan, which certainly does lose a star, this place will make your day sparkle.

Pros: Exceptionally friendly staff with a beautiful view, Kimchi-eeze toastie!!, "No Eggs" on toast, Nippon style

Cons: If you haven't been here, go now!!

Excellent food and even better service.

This is a definite 5 stars but I can’t rate it as such because it’s not a fully vegan establishment and therefore the Happy Cow app won’t let me! We had the truffle mushroom special with vegan feta, avocado on toast with vegan feta and truffle and tofu toastie. All were delicious and very well presented. We also had a variety of juices which were very good and a generously portioned. The staff were also lovely and the service incredibly quick. As an added bonus the restaurant is just across the road from the water and close to plenty of (free) parking!

Pros: Great vegan options- better options than the norm, Excellent service, Generous portion sizes

Cons: There were none!

A must eat in Cairns

The service is amazing. The food to die for. Catered for non vegans as well with delicious choices. The staff fully adapted their waffles for a child and made it look like a story. Give the vegan truffle toastie a go. I'll be heading back next time I'm in Cairns. Loved the experience.

Second time here

We couldn’t wait to go back to be honest!
I dreamt about their food for a couple of weeks 🤣
My husband and I tried a couple of different vegan options! The Tropical Avocado Toast, Piñacolada Waffle Stack and an amazing Yellow Super Smoothie.

Guyala is quickly becoming one of our favorite places in the world ♥️

Last time, our first time, we had the "Good Morning Vietnam" PB option (a vegan turmeric crepe) and the "Truffle Tofu Toastie". Absolutely amazing. We will be back again ahhah

You won't regret it.

Excellent service and gorgeous food. I had the confit tofu toastie and a soy cap. Both were devine. Hubby was very happy with his non vegan breakfast too.

Delicious!

My partner and I just came here for breakfast. We both got the Truffle & Tofu Toastie. It was so good we ended up ordering a third and splitting it. Staff were attentive and food was brought out quickly. Also have really good coffee!

Cool tropical

I was very excited to see this place open last year in what was previously a 'cafe desert' at the northern end of the esplanade, taking advantage of a perfect location to sit, eat and watch the view. The coffee is consistently high standard, and a separate plant based menu makes ordering easy for vegans... Undercover outdoor seating and a pretty steady breeze make it pleasant to sit outside for most of the year (and it's dog friendly too!). The Vietnamese style crepe and tofu 'huevos' rancheros are favourite meals... and fresh juices for when it's too hot for coffee.

Pros: Awesome coffee!, Fresh flavours, Great staff

Cons: So far only open for breakfast to lunch

Adventurous and fresh

The location of Guyala is on the corner of Smith St and the esplanade, attached to the SpinalLife centre. Happily, it's very wheelchair accessible by design. The menu offers things I haven't tried or haven't thought to combine. It's exciting to finally find a café ahead of the trends. I had a silken tofu and truffle toastie. My mum had avocado toast with a lot of native ingredients involved. Both were delicious. They're very fancy with the coffee too.
