Run by students of Sri Chinmoy (spiritual leader) -- the guys are super friendly and helpful. Always fully stocked with small selection of produce, frozen vegan and vegetarian goods, wide range of bulk dry goods (for purchase by weight), full back wall of herbs, teas, and other base ingredients for making your own blends/tinctures, etc. They also sell packaged snacks and health-focused grocery items, and vitamins/supplements behind the counter. Lots of signage distinguishing vegan from vegetarian items where appropriate. They also sell some specialty goods that are harder to find nearby, like non-alcoholic alternatives to wine and spirits.
I don’t live very close but I bike over from time to time. They have a lot of vegan stuff even though the store is on the smaller side. The workers are always super nice !
I live in the area and I frequent this health food store several times a week. It's the only health food store in the neighborhood and it's within walking distance and near the F train. It's a small store, however they carry an amazing variety of items. The staff is super friendly and you might just run into Ashrita Furman, who has the record for holding the most Guinness world records. There is paid parking on the block.
