Not opened on Monday? - Edit
Shop was not opened on 16 Jun 14 (Mon) but thankfully, Fo Kwang veg (behind) was opened and it was not a wasted trip after all!

Delicious home-style meals - Edit
Very low budget home-style wet noodle meals make a welcome change from the usual 'economy rice' style of budget vegetarian.
Served from pots into bowls in a sparse 'pop-up' type of cafe/restaurant with plastic stools, plastic bowls and plastic cutlery.
See the photo for the menu. I am not sure if everything is available every day.
There was a table of monks when I was there.
Lunch time might be the best time to visit to make sure it's open. The lady running it spoke a bit of English.
Please report if it is open and what the opening hours are and also get and post the phone number which is on the right side of the food server.
Hope it's still there when I return.
Pros: Home-style cooking, Very cheap, Friendly
Cons: Might be a bit casual for some people, Need to short walk from most hostels
