Best Vegan Food in Cape Town - Edit
I came here for an early lunch and to read my book. The staff were super friendly and helped me choose something(as a vegan, I am overwhelmed when there is so much to choose from on the menu 🤭).
Read moreIt was a difficult choice but I went with the hash brown waffle with cauli bites which was incredible! Very filling, tasty and satisfying. 🤩
The iced coffee was delicious, too. I don’t know what coffee beans and mylk they use but they were both delicious and worked really well together 😋
Overall, I enjoyed sitting there and will definitely go back again to try some of their other menu items. Honestly, not much to complain about. I think this has been my best vegan food experience in Cape Town 😁
Pros: Tasty food and coffee, Friendly and helpful staff , Good portions and quality (and not too expensive)
Cons: Only opens at 11:00 (more of a brunch/lunch spot), Didn’t have any mocha or avo available 🥲, Food and coffee took a little while to prepare

I am the biggest fan of Grumpy & Runt. They have new flavours every week and they are ALWAYS amazing. Additionally to mouthwatering donuts, they also have delicious savoury options, such as sandwiches and bagels.

This place is amazing. The range of donut flavours are incredible, the icecream flavours are so delicious and unique. The savoury waffles were okay, they were lacking some flavour but the presentation was amazing. The people working are super sweet and let me try all the icecream flavours. Its a new joint that i hope thrives because you can't get these amazing foods at an affordable price!

Absolutely fantastic, good portion sizes and great taste. They have a variety of doughnuts, of which the change the flavour on a weekly basis. The decor inside is light and fun, highly recommend.

It was a life saver when looking for a shelter from the heat. I wasn't actually hungry but I really enjoyed the food and I'd definitely would like to try more of their paninis.

Everything from here was so fab!! Big time recommend. 😍😍 I had a bacon and egg bagel 😋 and topped it all off with some donuts! The bagel was super delish and the donuts were too (plus they are huge!). I hope I will get the chance to come back!

One of our favorite places in the whole world - Edit
We left South Africa over a year ago, our eight year-old talks very little about the country he's grown up in but misses Grumpy & Runt's terribly! He misses the donuts and the soft-serve (full disclosure - me too), and my wife and I both miss the don't-eat-chicken-mayo sandwiches and the deli offerings.

Loved this place! Nice outdoor seating space. Friendly staff. Amazing donuts. You can get huge donuts or smaller ones which is nice if you want an assortment. They also have a small selection of sandwiches.

Fresh doughnuts that are really amazing. Also had a yummy scrambled tofu and seitan bacon sandwich. I can’t handle a ton of sugar so was glad they had some mini doughnut options too!

The quaint outdoor seating with the huge range of donuts are a must try and continue. Delicious warm drinks and lunch choices. The hardest thing about Grumpy and Runt is telling your eyes that they’re not as big as your stomach. #Veganuary
