Just What You Need in a Busy City - Edit
I’m on a mission to try everything on their menu. Apart from their colourful creative, delectable donuts, their menu items are truly wholesome. So far, I’ve had the Mushroom and Cheese and Cheese and Tomato sandwiches. I’m looking forward to trying the Cubano during the course of this week. And as usual, I grab a sweet treat while I wait for my order. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something safe and good to eat, worry-free, while on the grind at work.

Excellently sized delicious sandwiches! Loved the menu options, made it hard to pick what to have. Enjoyed the two donuts we had too. Really cute interior and exterior. Visited three times during our trip.

Absolutely fantastic, good portion sizes and great taste. They have a variety of doughnuts, of which the change the flavour on a weekly basis. The decor inside is light and fun, highly recommend.

It was a life saver when looking for a shelter from the heat. I wasn't actually hungry but I really enjoyed the food and I'd definitely would like to try more of their paninis.

Everything from here was so fab!! Big time recommend. 😍😍 I had a bacon and egg bagel 😋 and topped it all off with some donuts! The bagel was super delish and the donuts were too (plus they are huge!). I hope I will get the chance to come back!

One of our favorite places in the whole world - Edit
We left South Africa over a year ago, our eight year-old talks very little about the country he's grown up in but misses Grumpy & Runt's terribly! He misses the donuts and the soft-serve (full disclosure - me too), and my wife and I both miss the don't-eat-chicken-mayo sandwiches and the deli offerings.

Loved this place! Nice outdoor seating space. Friendly staff. Amazing donuts. You can get huge donuts or smaller ones which is nice if you want an assortment. They also have a small selection of sandwiches.

Fresh doughnuts that are really amazing. Also had a yummy scrambled tofu and seitan bacon sandwich. I can’t handle a ton of sugar so was glad they had some mini doughnut options too!

The quaint outdoor seating with the huge range of donuts are a must try and continue. Delicious warm drinks and lunch choices. The hardest thing about Grumpy and Runt is telling your eyes that they’re not as big as your stomach. #Veganuary

All vegan spot so a MUST TRY and they have sweet and savoury🤩🤩 They’re known for their donuts, but their sandwiches and bagels are also soo delicious
We had:
1. The reuben(esque) - pastrami style homemade deli meat, with cheese Russian dressing (vg mayo, soy sauce, mustard, Tabasco, tomato sauce) and sauerkraut
💚 woooow, fave part and must try this!!
2. Don’t-eat-chicken-mayo sourdough sandwich - roast chicken-style housemate seitan with mayo, and I added pickles
3. Chocolate and mint donut
💚 so much chocolate and loved a vg sweet option as rare to find! the top had an aero type chocolate bar which was delicious and need to find out how to buy these
4. Mini cinnamon donut
💚 delicious and a nice bite sized great
5. Oat milk flat white and oat milk iced latte
💚 only do oat milk here (@oatly ) and the coffee was absolutely delicious! best we have found in Cape Town so far
Hiiighly recommend trying if you’re in Cape Town, and they have a great menu of so many (all vg) options included vegan egg breakfast bagels

Savoury food is overlooked! - Edit
I had a vegan pistrami style sandwhich which was delicious.. the doughnut was perhaps a bit sweet for me, the chocolate glaze was not very rich in flavour. I think I also got there a bit late in the day so they were not as fresh, so I would visit earlier next time.
