Amazing vegan b&b

We loved this little vegan bnb: the food was incredible (high end restaurant calibre), the room beautiful & cozy, the service was great & the location had the best views & walks. We stayed for two nights. We had a little walk and relaxed with the dvds & cozy bed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.
Detail on the food:
On arrival we were given choc chip banana bread with peanut butter icing (gorgeous) & shortbread with teas/coffees.
Evening menu: we got the starters of haggis tarts with raspberry relish and neep puree & a Miso tofu, whisky caramelised smoked pineapple and red pepper skewers. For Mains: Tagliatelle with tomato sauce, ‘meatballs’, a garlic crumb and lemon greens. Also a Mezee salad plate with walnut and aubergine puree, bahara and spiced squash, yoghurt dip & flatbread.
We had the Breakfast special which was Black Forest pancakes with cherry compote, yoghurt & chocolate sauce. We also had the continental breakfast; a Sausage & tofu sandwich & a Scottish breakfast
Packed lunches: we got haggis and onion chutney sausage roll. Reuben ciabatta with ‘pastrami’, cheese, sauerkraut, pickles & mustard mayo, and it came with crisps, fruit & flapjacks. The packed lunches were so big we were still eating bits a few days later. We also got a film night platter (instead of mains) and it was surprisingly filling & great to graze on #Veganuary

A slice of vegan heaven in the Highlands!

My husband and I have just returned from a 5 day stay at Greenstone Lodge and had the most fantastic time! Admittedly, we were very lucky with the weather (pretty much non-stop sunshine for the duration), but the accommodation, location, and hospitality were second to none. The room was spacious and complete with a drying cabinet (not needed by us this time, but great to have) and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with vegan toiletries and a decent shower.
There were so many extra little touches, too, such as a DVD and book library, vegan sweets, a tea/coffee tray with fresh homemade shortbread every day and fresh oat and soya milk. The food was incredible! Chris is a trained chef and creates the most wonderful savoury meals (starters, mains and breakfasts) often with a Scottish theme, and Hayley makes the most delicious desserts and baked treats (fresh banana bread on arrival and wonderful flapjacks in the packed lunches). We really were thoroughly spoilt and are already looking forward to a return visit!
The location in the Bridge of Orchy is a brilliant place to base yourself for a stay in the Highlands. You can walk directly from Greenstone Lodge onto the West Highland Way, which we did on a couple of occasions. We also drove to Glencoe, which is not far away, and hired kayaks on a sea loch nearby. Another day we climbed Ben Lawers near Killin, which we would thoroughly recommend - one for the views (if the weather is good) and two to see the incredible work that National Trust Scotland are doing to preserve the local flora and fauna.
Thank you, Hayley and Chris! 10/10 - recommend!

Pros: Incredible vegan food, Fantastic hospitality, Brilliant location

Cons: None

Vegan paradise on the WHW

After several days of passable vegan food on the West Highland Way, it was amazing coming into this place. The hosts were very nice. The place is setup very well. You eat in your room so there isnt that awkward eating with strangers or with the hosts watching. Food was fantastic and good portions. Room was very clean and well-appointed. A must stop for any WHW walker.

Pros: The food was great!, Room was clean and well-appointed

Gourmet food in the West Highlands

Fabulous food and very pleasant experience! I highly recommend this accommodation as a destination on your Scottish Highlands explorations. Make sure to book dinners as well! Chef Chris does wonderful things with starters and mains, and Hayley excels at sweet things. A slice of delicious cake was offered on arrival. I stayed three nights, so was able to try all the starter and main options. I enjoyed all the meals - it’s well worth choosing the traditional Scottish dishes, which currently are haggis tarts with neep purée and raspberry relish, and cullen skink with smoked ‘tofish’. I really liked the miso tofu skewers…and everything else. Satisfying breakfasts and excellent picnic lunches, which include a delicious, generously sized, homemade, trail-mix bar. The in-room tray provided homemade shortbread, teas, coffee bags (including decaf), hot chocolate and oatmilk sachets.
Tasteful, lodge-like décor. The rooms have a drying cupboard! That’s something I’ve not seen before at an accommodation. They’re well used to hosting hikers.
I slept very comfortably: high-thread-count bedsheets, blackout blinds, quiet with the windows closed.
Bridge of Orchy is on the West Highland Way route, but you don’t have to be a walker to enjoy this experience. (As a fair-weather, low-altitude walker, I did a one-hour circuit and a two-hour out-and-back walk, without climbing up to the WHW.) You don’t need a car: Bridge of Orchy is on the bus route between Glasgow and Fort William.
With just two guest rooms, Greenstone is booked up well in advance, so plan ahead. Or watch their social media for occasional late availability.
Extra thanks to Chris for the warm welcome and ‘emergency’ provision of something I had run out of.

Pros: gourmet dinners, all vegan

Have wondered about this place in terms of location as we’re not big hikers and whether it was as good as it looks. Might need to book it! Thanks

Amazing B&B

My mom and I stayed here 1 night while walking the West Highland Way.
Best stay and best food! We had preordered the 3 course diner and packed lunch.
The food was amazing. Next morning breakfast was brought to our room. I had the pancakes and my mom the ciabatta. Both so delicious.
For lunch I had chosen the haggis sausage roll and my mom the ciabatta with Peruvian roast veggies. Both very big and tasty. Our lunch also included a flapjack, which is bigger than the average flapjack from a store. Plus an apple, cherry tomatoes and a small bag of crisp, the packed lunch was more than enough.
Not only the food was amazing, so was the room. Beautiful decorated. The shower is very good. And the room has a hospitality tray with not inly coffee and tea, but also hot chocolate mix and a homemade treat.
And by arrival we were met with a delicious slice of homemade cake.
The owners, Hayley and Chris, were very kind.
I hope I'll be able to return someday. The area is beautiful and I would love to see more of it.

Unforgettable Vegan Food and a lovely, cosy one night stay!

My wife and I stayed at the Greenstone Lodge more than a year ago in March 2023 and really wanted to write a review but life just got too busy, so writing a review after such a longtime should tell you how amazing this place is. We only stayed for one night so we had dinner and breakfast but the food was so amazing that we wished we could have stayed for a week. The young couple Hayley and Chris who run this place have clearly put a huge amount of effort into the B&B and there are so many lovely touches as mentioned in the other reviews. We highly recommend Greenstone Lodge to all Vegans and Non Vegans and hopefully we will be going back in the near future.

Pros: Plant Based/ Vegan, Stunning Location, Superb Hosts

Cons: Nothing

A gem of a place

Bridge of Orchay is the tiniest little place with only about 10 buildings including a hotel (next door), a fire station, a post office and of course, a plant based guesthouse!
I just love that this place exists! It is set in such a stunning and isolated location. There are some fabulous walks/hikes nearby and there is a train station just up the road (2 mins walk). From here you can get the train to Glasgow and other places such as Oban and Fort William.
The guesthouse itself is wonderful. So cosy, warm and welcoming. There are just so many thoughtful touches that make this place even more special. Absolutely exhausted after a long drive, we were shown our room and our host said “would you like a slice of cake?” Oh yes please! What a welcome and such a treat after the drive!
The evening meals and breakfast are of the highest quality. We were blown away. I would make the journey here again just for the food!
Books, DVDs, games are all available to borrow, there are miniature bottles of soya and oat milk in the mini fridge. Shortbread was left for us to enjoy.
I love this place. The hosts are absolutely fantastic and have made us feel so welcome. 10/10.

Pros: Location, Amazing quality food, All the little thoughtful touches

Amazing Vegan B&B in the highlands!

I booked this B&B for my fiancé and I for his birthday weekend (and actually planned the trip around it so we could stay here) and it was wonderful. We had dinner on both nights we stayed, a packed lunch for our day out hiking nearby, and breakfast on both mornings. Honestly incredible food by Chef Chris, very generous portions and so well-made. The location is perfect for doing some hiking and enjoying the local scenery, plus very quiet and relaxing. The hikes we did were mapped out by the owners in the guest information book. The room was really sweet and very clean. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a little Scottish getaway!

Pros: THE FOOD, Nearby hikes , Clean and comfortable room

100% Recommend! Enjoy Scotland at its best!

Excellent, 5*, would recommend!

I stayed for 7 nights, and had breakfast lunch and dinner provided by Greenstone each day. Food was excellent!

Plenty of entertainment in the local area, from climbing peaks, the West Highland Way for long scenic walks, Lochs that provide watersports and other attractions.

The hosts were excellent, provided a very professional and personal service, and generally made me feel extremely welcome.

Room was clean, well maintained and very comfortable.
