My Go-To Vegetarian Restaurant

It's hard to find: go inside the Wen Xing hotel at the address, then go to the second floor. It's through the large banquet hall.

Very tasty vegan meals, a variety of faux meats. The owners are very nice and speak some English. Prices are between 25-35 RMB for dinner.

Pros: good service, tasty, healthy food

Cute little place

If you're in the area, sure! It's a cute little place. The food was okay but not really worth a long ride. (About the toilet: You aren't supposed to stand ... It was fine.)

Pros: Wifi, Easy to find

Great little place

I really liked this place. The food was good, it was very reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly. The menu has pictures (and English), and the portions are decent. Everything comes as a set meal with a main, rice, and a little salad on the side. I of course ordered the salad without salad dressing, and it was very good!

Pros: English on menu, Cheap, Set meals

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Great food, nice people

It was very nice to found some dedicated vegetarians here in this city. Really healthy tasty food for a low price. The atmosphere is sort of a student activist one. Anyway, loved the taste of the food!

Cute!

Greenland is a very cute little cafe. Walking by, it's difficult to notice. Our cab driver had a bit of trouble finding the place, and it isn't quite where the address lists; it's maybe two stores down. The menu is not that long, and when we ordered food, we were often directed to choose something else because they didn't have whatever we wanted. This was somewhat annoying, as we ultimately ordered our third choices.

However, when the food comes out, it's cutely presented. The rice is served in star-shaped portions with bits of ube (purple yam) polka-dotting it. There are also mixed greens. The portions of what we actually ordered were somewhat small. The prices were cheap enough that you could always order more food, but if you eat all your rice and greens, you aren't left wanting more.

One big complaint my boyfriend had was with the bathroom. It was squatty potty in a tiny closet. He said there wasn't enough room for him to stand because of the slanty ceiling. The sink is outside and there are no towels or other mode of drying your hands.

Overall, I'd say this was a good experience. There were tons of Buddhist reading material and (I think) free wifi. A cute place for vegetarians to hang out. :)

Pros: Cute presentation, Delicious food

Cons: Tiny, dingy bathroom, Small portions
