Good food, awesome atmosphere! - Edit
I ate here twice during my 4 day stay in Auckland. I had the Korean noodles the first day, the second day I had the quesadillas. The quesadillas were my favourite (quite spicy)
Read morePros: The feel and atmosphere was great, I loved the story behind everything on the wall
Cons: Quite expensive, considering the portion size.

Wonderful - Edit
One of my favourite places to eat in Auckland. The banana bread is great and the owner is lovely. Really inspiring story, I love the 'we can change the world' spirit in the restaurant. Makes me happy:)

Incredible Food, Incredible Story - Edit
Had such a delicious dinner at Green Time. It's got quite a chilled cafe feel inside but the walls are painted with the story of how Green Time started and it's so inspiring! The food was just incredible. Would definitely recommend!

My favourite place in Auckland - Edit
The first impression you get of this place is that it is warm and welcoming, the staff will make you feel right at home and are very helpful. The menu has a great range of vegan goodies, most of which are reasonably healthy seeing as they do not use refined sugars or fry anything. I had the smoked tofu burger and stole a few tastes of my parents' Mexican platter. Both dishes were unbelievably tasty. I also recommend the ginger chai (which is served hot or cold to your preference) as well as taking a look at some of their cakes and other sweet treats because the apple pie cookie I had was perfectly spiced and contained some lovely apple chunks. Real care and attention is obviously put into the menu and food of this place and it upsets me that I do not live in Auckland so that I could eat here more often.

I like the calm, the friendly people running this place, the really tasty food, and the big mural raising awareness on the environmental impacts of our food.

Delicious, Wholesome, Invigorating Food. - Edit
I love Green Time. Everything about it is perfect for a nice meal on the road. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, with a nice mural explaining the inspiration for the restaurant. The food is delicious, using wholesome ingredients. The staff is super friendly. I liked it so much I came back. Everything I had looked gorgeous and was so yummy. I especially enjoyed their noodle dishes and the green tea cake.
Read moreTheir "spicy" dishes are just right for me. Not super hot, but just the right burn. I really love this place. You can tell a lot of care went into it.

A bit disappointing. - Edit
Thought I would give here another go after being underwhelmed the first time I came. Food in warmer almost cold. Got my order wrong. And instead of taking it away gave me the other option I asked for. Bang on lunchtime and only one other here. Lacking atmosphere and certainly not worth $17.50 for lunch. Shame

vegan oasis in the city - Edit
What a find Green time was, the delicious sexi mexi burger was a taste sensation. My partner had the sriracha mi goreng a huge plate of earthy mushroom noodle awesomeness. We shared the macha chestnut cake ....no photos it was devoured too quickly! Thankyou for your beautiful relaxing cafe. Excellent service from friendly staff.

Decent but not exceptional - Edit
Given how much love this place gets on review sites, I may have had unfairly high expectations. It was fine, but not much more than that.
Read moreThe pros: The place is lovely. Really nice ambiance. Very clean (though the one table I sat at didn't seem to have been lavished as much attention). The staff are really friendly and helpful. Cute founding story (see the wall paintings). If you're vegan, peanut-allergic, etc., I bet this place is heavenly.
So what's not to like?
The menu is really small. So there's only so much selection.
I had the Sexy Mexi, which was a pretty so-so burger (on a bagel? definitely not on a regular burger bun). Beets, beans, salsa, gauc…a so-so interpretation of "Mex". The flavors were fine, but nothing particularly memorable or outstanding, especially given that there are lots of good veg burgers Down Under.
I also ordered the tofu rolls. This ought to be renamed the “glass noodles rolls”. There was a bit of tofu, a bit of vegetable, and lots and lots and lots of glass noodles just stuffed into the wrappers. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe it's like how place stuff burritos with rice or other ingredients that are cheap and temporarily filling.
Even by NZ standards, it was somewhat expensive, especially for the quantity of food.
In short, you're not really paying for the food alone (unless you have dietary restrictions that make this place an absolute necessity); you're paying for an oasis in the middle of the Auckland CBD. There's value in that, but how much? Not enough that I felt “Wow, why can't we have one of these at home?”.
Pros: very conscious of dietary restrictions, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean
Cons: so-so food, limited menu, pricy for the quantity

Chef's Special - absolutely delicious - Edit
It was my first time trying Green Time (first time trying a full vegan restaurant!), and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The Chef's Special was one of the best meals I've ever bought. Also the atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were incredibly friendly. I will be bringing my omni boyfriend back here for lunch asap. 10/10. A . 5 billion stars.

Cosy, pleasant little joint. Had the udon noodle soup and soba noodles, which were both delicious - the menu is a little small and its options on the expensive side.

Lovely New Vegan Restaurant - Edit
In the last few days our family of three ate twice in Green Time. Good vegan food, friendly staff, we are very glad this restaurant exists!
Read moreTwo things could be better: having to pay when you order the food instead of as usual after finishing your meal as we ordered desserts and had to pay twice!
Second: both days we dined between 6 and 7pm and some of the choices had already run out! A great sign of success and maybe time to take a bit more of a risk and prepare more rolls and tiramisu?

I've been in about three times and had a lovely meal each time, although portions are fairly small and salads are sparse. However this is a new business by someone following their dream and that has to be taken into account.
I hope more people experience Green Time; it's an oasis of calm, with tasty food.
Pros: Great lunch for city workers, Awesome philosophy, Friendly service

Really cool place in the CBD that is sure to give you a fully vegan meal without the "i know its supposed to be vegan but is it REALLY?" thoughts.
Read morebeen twice and have tried the marinated tofu rice wraps and the korean glass noodles.
Whilst the service itself wasnt bad in any way the only downside is that I personally found the service pretty awkward both times I've gone there.
All that aside the food was fantastic and it's pretty hard not to pop in whenever I'm in the CBD
Pros: Everything is cruelty free, central location, easy to get to.
