Decent but not exceptional - Edit
Given how much love this place gets on review sites, I may have had unfairly high expectations. It was fine, but not much more than that.
The pros: The place is lovely. Really nice ambiance. Very clean (though the one table I sat at didn't seem to have been lavished as much attention). The staff are really friendly and helpful. Cute founding story (see the wall paintings). If you're vegan, peanut-allergic, etc., I bet this place is heavenly.
So what's not to like?
The menu is really small. So there's only so much selection.
I had the Sexy Mexi, which was a pretty so-so burger (on a bagel? definitely not on a regular burger bun). Beets, beans, salsa, gauc…a so-so interpretation of "Mex". The flavors were fine, but nothing particularly memorable or outstanding, especially given that there are lots of good veg burgers Down Under.
I also ordered the tofu rolls. This ought to be renamed the “glass noodles rolls”. There was a bit of tofu, a bit of vegetable, and lots and lots and lots of glass noodles just stuffed into the wrappers. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe it's like how place stuff burritos with rice or other ingredients that are cheap and temporarily filling.
Even by NZ standards, it was somewhat expensive, especially for the quantity of food.
In short, you're not really paying for the food alone (unless you have dietary restrictions that make this place an absolute necessity); you're paying for an oasis in the middle of the Auckland CBD. There's value in that, but how much? Not enough that I felt “Wow, why can't we have one of these at home?”.
Pros: very conscious of dietary restrictions, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean
Cons: so-so food, limited menu, pricy for the quantity

Great food - Edit
First timers here and we loved the food. We each had a burger and we followed it up with a trifle cup and kumera cake. The staff were all lovely too. We'll definitely be back.
Pros: All vegan, everything. What a nice change.

Chef's Special - absolutely delicious - Edit
It was my first time trying Green Time (first time trying a full vegan restaurant!), and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The Chef's Special was one of the best meals I've ever bought. Also the atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were incredibly friendly. I will be bringing my omni boyfriend back here for lunch asap. 10/10. A . 5 billion stars.

Tasty, but a little pricey - Edit
Cosy, pleasant little joint. Had the udon noodle soup and soba noodles, which were both delicious - the menu is a little small and its options on the expensive side.

Lovely New Vegan Restaurant - Edit
In the last few days our family of three ate twice in Green Time. Good vegan food, friendly staff, we are very glad this restaurant exists!
Two things could be better: having to pay when you order the food instead of as usual after finishing your meal as we ordered desserts and had to pay twice!
Second: both days we dined between 6 and 7pm and some of the choices had already run out! A great sign of success and maybe time to take a bit more of a risk and prepare more rolls and tiramisu?

A vegan's dream - Edit
I really enjoyed the whole experience of this restaurant! The staff were friendly, the options were numerous (how often do we wish for that!), and the food was really tasty. I just wish there was a Green Time in my home town.
Pros: Options, Service, Location

Inspirational - Edit
Kitty's story is inspiring and you can read a short synopsis here:
http://www.heartofthecity.co.nz/dining/auckland-restaurants/green-time
I've been in about three times and had a lovely meal each time, although portions are fairly small and salads are sparse. However this is a new business by someone following their dream and that has to be taken into account.
I hope more people experience Green Time; it's an oasis of calm, with tasty food.
Pros: Great lunch for city workers, Awesome philosophy, Friendly service

Absolutely wonderful! - Edit
Amazing food, wonderful staff and good prices! This place has got it spot on. There were any Asian and western things to choose from, fresh flavours, healthy and Eco-concious food.
The story behind the restaurant is just as interesting, and painted on the walls with beautiful illustrations. I got to speak to the inspiring founder Kitty and it was just an overall positive and pleasant experience. I will be coming back here for sure!!
Pros: Tasty food, Healthy , Wonderful environment

Neat little joint! - Edit
Really cool place in the CBD that is sure to give you a fully vegan meal without the "i know its supposed to be vegan but is it REALLY?" thoughts.
been twice and have tried the marinated tofu rice wraps and the korean glass noodles.
Whilst the service itself wasnt bad in any way the only downside is that I personally found the service pretty awkward both times I've gone there.
All that aside the food was fantastic and it's pretty hard not to pop in whenever I'm in the CBD
Pros: Everything is cruelty free, central location, easy to get to.

So delicious! - Edit
Was so excited to visit Green Time on a visit to Auckland, the menu is extensive from summer rolls to burgers/mini burritos and noodle dishes/soups. I had the mini 'mince' wraps and they were full of flavour. They have some great tea options and also desserts ❤️
Pros: great menu, fresh flavours, pretty decor, good sea
Cons: hard to choose what to eat everything looks so goo

Choices, taste and sustainability - Edit
All vegan, Asian and Western choices, plus daily soup and desserts. I really enjoyed the mushroom roll and the Smoky burger was to die for. All the soups I have tried were spot on. Blueberry cheesecake was not too sweet and plenty rich. Clean, modern decor with a definite sustainability angle, and delightful staff. I make sure to visit every time I'm in Auckland!
Pros: All vegan, Great staff, Good pricing
Cons: Slightly hard to see from street, make sure you us

One of Auckland's Best - Edit
Auckland's newest vegan restaurant is one if its best, and I highly recommend stopping by while in downtown Auckland. The food was healthy, delicious and very reasonably priced for such quality food, and the interior was spacious and welcoming. The tofu-based patty in my burger was truly the most delicious I've had anywhere, and I must have tried hundreds of vegan burgers around Asia and the world. Their desserts looked great too, but I'd had lunch not long before so didn't try them.
As a previous reviewer noted, the owner of this new vegan restaurant has a fascinating story of how she decided to quit her job to open a vegan restaurant. She is motivated by all the right reasons, and hopes this will be a model of how good food can be: it's all vegan, and the owner and her chefs takes care to make the process as environmentally friendly as possible, right down to serving portions which make people feel satisfied (in a good way) without wasting food. The walls are painted with gentle but powerful environmental messages.
If there is one restaurant in Auckland which deserves support it's here. If you have two meals in Auckland I suggest making one here and one at one of the Little Bird Unbakery restaurants.
Pros: Delicious vegan food., Very reasonable prices., Great philosophy behind the restaurant.

Loved it! Going back tomorrow... - Edit
We went this evening and had a couple of burgers and a noodle bowl. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Had a couple of desserts which were also very good -- made without refined sugar. The man working there was also very friendly. A great little place!
Pros: Food, Friendly staff, Decor
