Disappointing - Edit
Called into Green Straw on Tues lunchtime, after reading great reviews online. We were Hungry Like The Wolf, after a great Duran gig the evening before, and needed some good sustenance before our trip back to the west of Irl. Unfortunately, our experience was Beyond The Pale.
Read moreFirstly, our coffees arrived. My Mocha was more like a weak coffee, not a hint of a chocolate flavour. I thought maybe they got my order wrong, until I caught sight of my comrade's very watery looking Americano.
Next, my chicken pasta dish arrived, which was a Special of the day. The pasta was very soft (overcooked), the chicken like cardboard (flavourless), and I was unable to eat most of it.
My friend's vegan wrap was just average (there was no hot vegan option on the menu, despite the name Green Straw).
We asked for salt and pepper..yano, just to add a bit of flavour.., and we were given paper sachets.
A quick visit to the loo..and alas, no toilet paper...a member of staff had to run out to shop to buy some!
€50 lighter, and still hungry (Like The Wolf), we left wondering, after all the great reviews - Is There Something I Should Know? Maybe we visited on a bad day and the staff had Come Undone....🤭
Pros: Friendly Staff, Prompt service
Cons: Coffees, Food, Salt & pepper sachets

Good service - Edit
There is a vegan burrito on the menu, other that that other options which can be made vegan such as the falafel wrap. The staff are friendly and there is a really nice atmosphere.

No vegan options - Edit
The extensive menu doesn’t have a single vegan option. Perhaps two dishes can be made vegan if you ask for the cheese or dressing to be skipped but given how many options there are it almost seems on purpose that every meal has a dairy based ingredient. Even the smoothies all contain yogurt. I had falafel salad without tzatziki and it was very average.

Cons: Single use plastic cutlery for takeaways , Dairy. Dairy in everything.

Lots of selection for a small spot! - Edit
Got the açai bowl, which I quite liked although a little more frozen than I’m used to, plus an oat milk flat white. I’d definitely go back to try more if I was staying in Swords longer!

Tasty vegan options in Swords - Edit
Acai bowl was fresh and tasty, good for a smaller meal. The vegan burrito was creative, filling and extremely delicious. Juices all seemed to be vegan, but no smoothies were. I would appreciate another vegan sandwich option and a smoothie option also.
Read morePros: Food is original, creative , Wide choice of vegan juices , Outdoor seating (sheltered)
Cons: Limited indoor seating , Very large menu, but only 2 vegan food options, No desserts/ cakes seemed to be vegan
