Yummy Little Gem! - Edit
We had two meals here while staying in the nearby state park campground. It was a lovely break back in civilization and the coffee is very good! We asked about every possible non-vegan element and everything was vegan, from the cheese to the whipped cream, so I’m not sure what ISN’T vegan. My favorite was the “Nemo’s wrap” but we enjoyed everything we got.

Vegan on the Oregon Coast - Edit
So glad to find vegan food on the Oregon Coast. After a night of camping nearby, drove to Yachats for a cup of coffee and breakfast. The coffee was not great but good enough to enjoy while reading with a glimpse of the Pacific in the distance.
Read moreFor food, I ordered the Broccoli and Potato Breakfast Scramble. It was okay, it was nice to have the vegetables but the tofu scramble aspect of it was lacking in flavor and texture.
I was underwhelmed, but with all of that being said, if I am on the coast near Yachats I will definitely be returning. I'll try something different on the menu.
Update - returned and enjoyed the Chorizo breakfast wrap.
Update - house made black bean burger is a solid choice, not going to wow you though.

What a find! - Edit
This vegetarian restaurant is awesome, with almost everything on the menu already vegan or can easily be made vegan. I had the Nemo’s fish tacos (made with Gardein fillets). A bit pricey, but the portions are large. I could easily eat here every day!

Amazing breakfast sandwich - Edit
You wouldn't expect this little town to have an all vegan breakfast/lunch spot, but they sure do, and its fantastic! I had the sausage breakfast sandwich with just egg and cheese on an everything bagel and a pour over coffee. Later in the day, I went back for another coffee and Chocolate Cordyceps cookie...also amazing. All the pastries looked amazing. I had a hard time choosing! I wish they served dinner.

Delicious Find on Happy Cow - Edit
Thank goodness for Happy Cow.
Read moreThis was a great find on the way north from Florence right on Hwy 101. The food and pastries are amazing. Most everything is "plant based", but they do have dairy products, so be sure to specify all vegan just to be sure. The staff is very friendly and funny.
Pros: Almost all vegan, Plenty of seating, Great location
Cons: Not all vegan, Not super fast, but maybe that's a good thing

Great spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch - Edit
Stopped in for a coffee and pastry and decided to have breakfast. Ordered the Neptune's bagel plate, the breakfast sliders and a raspberry cream cheese croissant. All were very good but the special Oz tea latte was by far my favorite.

Can't wait to try an entree - Edit
Just came in for a latte after lunch nearby. I didn't realize it was all vegan! I got a huge crinkle chocolate cookie made with mushrooms for $3. Yum. My friend said her chocolate chai was the best and I had a good latte. Cozy, fun place. All the entrees looked delicious. Sorry I was so full. Will return when in the area.

Almost entirely vegan menu in small town Oregon - Edit
This was an exciting find on a drive down the Oregon coast, which otherwise, is not dense with vegan choices. We visited mid-morning, mid-week in summer to find a long line. The place is efficiently organized (enter the north door to join the order line, exit the south door), but still a bit slow.
Read moreWe ate in, had savory brunches (omelet, fish sandwich), cocoa with whipped cream, and fruit/cheese pastries - all vegan and good.
I say 'almost' vegan because they do seem to serve cow milk on request. But everything is vegan by default. It's a little on the spendy size, but not by a lot, and it's great to have so many options in such an unlikely location. And I was very happy to see how busy and popular it was. (And they sell two kinds of dog treats!)
Pros: Vegan by default, Good food, Plenty of choices
Cons: Does offer cow milk on request, Slightly more costly than I'd have liked, Busy!

Great vegan breakfast & pastries - Edit
We found this place on a road trip up the 101 after many nights of eating whatever we could find that was vegan.
Read moreWe had the blueberry pancake special and the chorizo breakfast burrito, coffees and a raspberry danish and strawberry rhubarb pastry to go.
It was spendy but completely worth it. They were the best vegan pastries I’ve ever had (and we live very close to Portland with lots of great vegan bakeries)
The restaurant is small and the line was out the door when we got there but it moved pretty quickly and we found a table right away. There’s a lot to look at while you’re waiting in line. There’s restaurant sells tarot cards, homemade dog treats, cookies and all kinds of other stuff. We loved the decor.
I wanted to stay in Yachats longer so we could have another meal there. Definitely worth going out of your way for.
Pros: The pastries are amazing
Cons: Coffee wasn’t that great

Better options elsewhere - Edit
We paid over 16$ for two vegan oat milk mochas and a pastry. The coffees were terrible! I’m usually not a picky coffee drinker but this was just awful. Not to mention the cashier was extremely rude to us for no specific reason. I won’t be going back.

One of the best breakfast places I've ever been to! - Edit
Really nice staff & community vibe. Excellent food. Lots of options. We had the pancakes, tofu scramble and avocado toast. Plus two excellent pastries. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had a croissant!

Little vegan oasis on the Oregon Coast - Edit
We stopped at Green Salmon after reading that they might have "a few" vegan options. But we were delighted to learn that the cafe is ALL vegan by default now (though I think you can ask for dairy milk by request). They have a great menu, good coffee and tea, fun local gifts and great selection of ENORMOUS pastries. Definitely a treasure for vegans visiting Yachats, or just passing through.

Great little spot for coffee and tea and homemade vegan pastries! Sweet and savory pastries available. Great coffee and tea drinks and quirky little casual spot. They have a full breakfast menu but I can’t speak to that. We just had a savory ham and cheese pastry and a sweet maple glazed croissant.

OMG - Edit
Most delicious vegan cafe in the coast! The "omelet with ham and cheese and asparagus" was INCREDIBLE. Haven't had a vegan omelet before and it was SO delicious! Also, the best pancake I've had since being vegan. Everything was really incredibly good, and we love in Portland and are used to having plenty of vegan options.

All vegan with pastries, cocoa, huge variety of scrambles, sandwiches, teas, tee-shirts, tarot cards on the tables. In addition, the people/person working there, was phenomenal in her kindness, relating to each customer very personally. And btw, the food was delicious, prices fair in today’s inflation. Tip well, it’s deserved here.

Best Vegan Food on the Oregon Coast - Edit
No trip to Yachats (or surrounding area) would be complete without a stop at the Green Salmon. Their breakfast sliders are my favorite item on the menu - the Umaro bacon is THE best vegan bacon. All their pastries are amazing, too, but get there early before they sell out. So glad they made the choice to go fully vegan - thanks Green Salmon!

It was hard to find good vegan options on the coast so this was such a welcome find! Lovely place, great menu with a ton of variety. Good vibes inside. I got a very satisfying Spicy BLT and a really nice mug of hot cocoa. Lot of spiritual stuff going on in there. Fun merch too.

Unexpected vegan food on the coast! - Edit
Was in Yachats for a weekend wedding and was pleasantly surprised to find the Green Salmon! I ordered two breakfast burritos, the tempeh Reuben, and a smoothie with pistachio milk. Everything I had was fresh, delicious, and came in huge portions. Tasted amazing and you could tell that they put a lot of care and love into their food. All that food lasted me 5 meals! So happy to have this option in a tiny coastal town. Thank you Green Salmon!!

I was really craving a burger and their impossible burger did not disappoint! The sprouts & peperoncinis were the metaphorical cherry on top. It was really busy when I went so It took awhile to order but I definitely want to go back and sample the whole menu.

Disappointing coffee, mediocre food - Edit
Unfortunately I had high expectations for this place because it's all plant based now. My latte was just plain terrible I couldn't even finish it. The coffee was burnt tasting and the milk seemed to be steeped at too high a temperature. The breakfast wrap was only okay, but too dry and a hair in mine.

I would love to eat here every day - Edit
Holy cow, if I lived in Yachats I would eat here every day. Coffee and tea (black tea fog) were top notch, but the food was unexpectedly good. The menu items are clearly labeled as vegan.
Read moreOver a couple of days my wife and I had:
* pastries
* pretzel burger (amazing!)
* reuben sandwich
* breakfast burrito
All of them were good. The pretzel burger probably stands out as the best by a hair and is a crowd pleaser.
As of July 2023 they were all vegan except for parmesan cheese on one salad and cow milk on offer.

Vegan surprise! - Edit
We love Yachats and have been coming here for years. Green Salmon has been in the town for a while, but they have changed and are now almost, if not entirely, plant based. Their food is fresh and delicious and we very much appreciate their rebranding as a plant based diner. Service is also friendly and welcoming. I tried to give a 5 star rating, but Happy Cow won't allow if restaurants are not listed as entirely vegan.
