Veg & vegan cafe - Edit
Small, sweet cafe with great art, lovely staff, cozy atmosphere. The menu is different to the last time we were in Oxford, and to add, they had a “festive” menu. It keeps it exciting! There was a queue to get in and there was a constant influx of customers. While this may mean a wait time for a table, there was a good turnover of tables and is a sign that it’s a loved spot for locals—you know the food must be good! Takeaway coffees and baked goods available at the front counter if you want something quick. Cute front window to grab and go. Dog friendly😄
Read morePros: Flavourful food , Big portion sizes and a decent price , Artsy, bright space with neat atmosphere
Cons: Possibly short wait time to get in (I didn’t mind)

Really good food and place - Edit
The place inside is beautiful and there is plenty of room. It also has a nice terrace for the good weather.
Read moreI tried two options for brunch and both were delicious, everything on the menu seems to be really good so I'd definitely come back to try more!
It is really appreciated that everything is vegan, and also have some dessert options which are really good as well.
I'd say I found some of the options a bit expensive for the size, but most of the menu is well priced.
Pros: Everything vegan, Delicious , Beautiful place

Nice decor, menu and community - Edit
Enjoyed the pancakes and breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was all about the vegetables and pulses rather than being packed with spices. Thoroughly enjoyed stumbling upon the cafe, especially as the breakfast menu was fully plant-based! They have evening events so they must have a great community.

Great for breakfast - Edit
Welcoming cosy place that's bigger than it looks! Everything was delicious, especially the breakfast burrito and marmite tater tots. Great coffee. Would definitely revisit when in Oxford.

Crazily overpriced but nice food - Edit
You don't get much for your but what you get is yummy. Pastries are crazily overpriced, you pay £3.40 for the pain au chocolate when you get exactly the same vegan pain au chocolat (same producer) for £2.80 in the city centre. While it's nice to have a mostly vegan place in Cowley, I do not think that prices are justified.

Really great food - Edit
The staff are really friendly, the food for Taco night is incredible. I’m not sure they always do it, it’s perhaps a limited time thing. That said, I’ve been for brekkies and they’re great too. They also do really nice coffee 🙂

Not fully Vegan despite reviews. - Edit
The restaurant serves cows milk as an option for drinks and the pastries they have are NOT vegan. They contain cows milk, butter and eggs. (Have sent an email to get it changed back but while it says vegan hopefully this can help those with allergens!! )
Read moreDespite that it’s a really nice place to eat, service is just a bit slow.

Gorgeous food and food all vegan - Edit
Advertised as vegetarian but in fact the menu itself is all vegan (cow’s milk available though, strangely), tasty food and a good selection in a nice atmosphere - even on Friday though it got full around 11, so come earlier for breakfast. A little bit further out from Oxford City Centre but worth the 20 minute walk / 10 minute bus.

Best veg place in Oxford - Edit
Green Routes is my favorite go-to for a quick, cheap bite in Oxford. (It helps that I live in the neighborhood!) The staff is real friendly, the coffee is quality, and the food is delicious. I especially love the breakfast sandwiches, both for value and for taste. During off-peak hours, I've brought reading there and had coffee and treats. It does get busy during lunch, but usually the mornings aren't as crowded so you can go sit and enjoy.

This lovely place would be 5 stars if it were 100% vegan 🌱 - Edit
Drove by it first looking for parking on a lovely day. Liked the look of it immediately with the lovely outside seating on a groovy residential street with other cool hospitality businesses on it.
Read moreParked up directly outside and asked the really attentive staff if the parking signs mean two hours free parking before you must move on, they said yes and that they would give me the nod when my two hours is up. Great start.
The space is gorgeous set over 3 x levels. We sat on the mezzanine level at the back in a cozy booth. The staff were super friendly and into it. We ordered 2 x breakfast muffins and sourdough toast and it was awesome, as was the coffee that comes with the special offer.
We started chatting to Maddie a groovy vegan 🌱 girl that works there with great jewellery. She’s absolutely top at her job and was great craic to talk to. I’m sure she’s an artist or summit as we got on like a house on fire.
Maddie brilliantly upsold us on the pancake dessert which was actually the best pancake dessert I’ve ever had. I also had an oat matcha 🍵 to go with it and it too was amazeballs.

Pros: Loads of vegan 🌱 grub & car parking around , Brilliantly done with outside space , Staff & customers are lovely
Cons: This place has to go 100% vegan 🌱 , If Mildreds can do it, they can , It’s important that brilliant places influence

Incredible! - Edit
Not only is Green Routes fantastic, affordable, and an incredibly pleasant place, they're also creative with their menu. First time I've seen a vegan place attempt french toast, and they nailed it!
Read moreStaff are lovely, decor is eye-catching and also lovely, food is well priced and scrumptious.
Only downside is that it's so busy! Understandably so. Would recommend going midweek as on the weekend you're likely to have to wait for a table.

Beautiful, thoughtful food. - Edit
Almost missed out on trying these guys and so glad I didn't - one of the best and most exciting vegan brunch menus I've seen anywhere.
Read moreI had the Highlander toast with vegan haggis, runny "egg" and spring greens/crisped kale and it was just stunning. Stunning! (Literally my only very slight gripe - beyond there being far too many things to choose from in one visit - was that there was maybe just a bit too much sauce with it, but given that it's not on the actual toast it's hardly an issue to just not use all of it during every delicious mouthful.)
As I felt an urgent need to also try one of the sweet options, I shared the very generous french toast with my OH and that was also blissful. Crispy, sweet, squishy... Yes please.
Everything was presented beautifully in addition to tasting divine. Well worth having a wander down even if you're in the city centre on your trip.
Allergens are really clear on the menu, too, which is always reassuring.
Pros: Genuinely exciting, tasty food, Excellent coffee, Perfect portion size.

Can't wait for the doors to open! - Edit
Walked by the takeaway hatch for a coffee (which is locally roasted by the cafe team) and saw the plant-based food-to-go menu. I had one of their breakfast muffins & wild mushroom roll.
Read moreThe texture was perfect with a nice crispiness from the hash brown and a good flavour from their home-made vegan sausage patty. It's very refreshing to see a tasty vegan menu at a fair price.
Had a chat with their their (super friendly) and seriously looking forward to their plans: Natural wine & tapas, Sunday Roast & supper clubs.
Happy with the hatch offering for now but can't wait for the doors to open!
Pros: Local Coffee, Homemade Food, COVID Safe
Cons: Front garden could be cleaner, Small menu (for now), Cafe isn't fully vegan - (Kitchen menu is)
