good vegan options in AC - Edit
it was hard to find a place that had solid vegan options in Aguas Calientes. We came across this spot and the menu was all vegetarian with many vegan options. We chose two traditional Peruvian dishes bc when we travel we love to eat traditional dishes made vegan. We got the tacu tacu and the soltado. The food was good, service was nice and the place is really cute, with a balcony overlooking the street. Not the best food we ate in Peru but a good option nonetheless to fuel the evening before a long day at Machu Picchu!

Nice food, small portions - Edit
I got the Tacu Tacu, 100% recommended, however if you’re hungry, the portion would be to little and it’s not cheap.

Great fast service, and the vegan saltado came with vegan meat (tofu) which was a win for a non-veg place! Really delicious food, but a bit on the pricey side.

Nice location with a terrace that overlooks the walkway. Good selection and the staff will guide you to the vegan options. Our server was wonderful. We chose the bean soup and the Tacu-Tacu. Both hit the spot!

Nice Sandwich - Edit
We got the sandwich to eat during the Machu Pichu hiking. Tip: buy an extra portion of olives and ask to be added to the sandwich.

Nice looking place, but not for pizza - Edit
It is a nice terrace on one of the main streets of Agua Calientes but was not impressed by the menu for vegan. Asked for a vegan pizza. Mushrooms and tomatoes. It was OK. My friend had one napoletano pizza and it was just cheese, we could not see any tomatoe sauce. There is pizzeria across the street, it might be a better deal. This was expensive for what it was for us, then again Aguas Calientes is expensive.

Really good vegan options - Edit
This is the best non-veg choice in Aguas Calientes. I had a hard time choosing what to eat because there were many interesting options. Ended up ordering the tacu-tacu: sautéed red beans with rice accompanied by mushrooms, fried plantains and Creole salad. It was delicious! The rice and beans were perfect. It was not cheap, but the portion was quite big. They said they could make a vegan dessert but it didn't sound too appealing and I was already full anyway.

Muchas opciones plant-based. - Edit

Enjoyed a lovely fresh salad, which was a welcome respite from the heavy carbohydrate food I was eating on the 4 day Inca trail hike. The restaurant is lovely with plants everywhere.

Only one vegan option - Edit
The place is nice, it's organic. We saw the menu outside and understood they had many vegan options, but when we sat in the restaurant we found out there was only one. It was a vegan version of lomo saltado, It was good, but we had no other choice. For vegetarians they have more options. The service was amazing, the waiter even spoke Portuguese with us (we are Brazilian) and the pisco sour was vegan too.
Read moreIt's expensive, but all food in Machupicchu Pueblo Is expensive due to it's location and the goods being transported by train.
