Not as good today as in the past

Maybe it’s because it’s tourist season and they’re a bit too busy to keep up the usual standard but today’s visit was disappointing. There were no vegan options on the menu, I was charged the full €10 for my salad even though they’d not added the egg and cheese nor substituted it with anything else (I queried the price but wasn’t offered any sort of discount, which made it one of the most expensive green salads I’ve ever had), the service was nothing like as friendly and competent as usual, and the good selection of vegan cakes was uncovered despite the number of flies in the café, which put me off ordering any. I will probably go back sometime in the hope that today was a temporary blip (I’ve eaten here several times before and it’s always been great).

Brunch at The Green Bazar

I, my wife and two friends had the pleasure of taking brunch at the Green Bazar on a recent Spring Sunday morning. We all enjoyed the food greatly, mine with soya cheese on brioches perdu was indeed delicious. The company was warm and welcoming, and my Scottish friend engaged in lively conversation with the owner about how nice the tortillas were! Thank We thank the Green Bazar for an enjoyable experience.

I am, though, unsure on one issue. Two of the dishes on offer contained cheeses – Cantal and parmesan. To the best of my knowledge, both of these cheeses use animal rennet. As such, they are not suitable for vegetarians. A degree of clarity on the choice of dishes would therefore be useful. As things stand, they are all marked as suitable for vegetarians.

Pros: outdoor seating and cozy interior. Very friendly., imaginative menu., adjacent to Mirepoix's lovely place

Cons: unsure of provenance of cheeses.

Amazing Food in an Amazing Place

We recently had the good fortune to find this fabulous café in the heart of the beautiful Mirepoix. As vegans, it can sometimes be hard to find a range of food in France but this place is incredible; the selection, even vegan puddings is incredible and delicious. The humous salad we had was delicious (absolutely loved the watermelon in the salad, that was a revelation). Lovely owners who speak perfect English, which helped us. The atmosphere is fabulous too, It was great for us as a family and our little boy had a great time playing some of the board games there too. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you so much.

ps. Loved the music too.

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Options
