Serves meat, vegan options available. Typical English tea room on a nice spot by the water in "The Venice of the Cotswolds."
In an area without pure veg places, this place is willing to accommodate special diets - a board outside the store advertises it, and offer soy milk for tea/coffee. Open Mon-Sun 09:00-17:00.

Not ideal - Edit
Sadly, we were disappointed. We waited half an hour for 2 coffees which were luke warm. They didn’t wipe our table. They had a child clearing tables. He was overworked and struggling to carry the trays. This resulted in him dropping things on numerous occasions. He put down someone’s food in front of them and everything on the plate landed on their dirty table. Granted he had tried to clean the table when they arrived but they said he didn’t need to. Overall impression was that they did not have enough qualified staff to run well.

had a lovely time in beautiful bourton on the water and enjoyed a stop at the tea room. they had 4(?) milk options but were out of my preferred soy which was fine as i still had lots of choice. two vegan cakes- lemon and chocolate- not labelled but we asked the person behind the counter who let us know. very tasty lemon cake and good coffee too.

Lovely, relaxed vegan-friendly café - Edit
Clear vegan menu with gluten-free options. Simple, tasty café fare. Not much to say, other than it was really good!

Absolutely superb! - Edit
Many vegan cakes AND lunch main meals! Super friendly staff, and owner who is vegan himself. Delicious vegan lemon drizzle cake and soy coffee, in a quaint half antique store and half cafe. Fantastic spot.

Best Place for Vegans for Miles - Edit
The owner, Matt, is super friendly and hospitable. His daughter is a vegan chef in Dubai and gives him lots of great recipes. So, the vegan options are very good indeed, both food and cakes. Highly recommend.

Okay - Edit
Stopped in because I saw the vegan options board outside. So good to see something more than a salad. Got the vegan a one which was decent . Comes with dairy free butter and jam. My friend got the vegan penang curry which I was told quite tasty. The prices are decent. Strange concept of a antique shop and a cafe mixed together. But may be a cotswold.

Not impressed - Edit
I tried the beetroot falafel but I wasn't impressed. A small wheat pita with 3 really small falafels costed 6.99 pounds...

scone - Edit
In a place where I couldn't even find tofu at the little grocery store in town I was delighted to find vegan scones and carrot cake at the Green and Pleasant Tea Room. The vegan scone was delicious and they even had iced lattes with soy milk.

Vegan scones by the river - Edit
Stopping off in Bourton for a bit of sightseeing, one doesn't expect to find anything to have with your cup of tea. As we passed this place, the little blackboard by the door screamed 'Egg & Dairy Free scones' and 'Homemade Vegan Cakes'.

They only had scones that were vegan, a fruit scone served with vitalite and strawberry jam.
The scone had the texture of a gluten free bake as well, but was OK. The guy popped out to check all was good and explained that they were also gluten and soy free too!
Excellent situation right by the river, but they rush you out of your seat a bit by clearing stuff off the table as soon as each item is clear.
Certainly worth stopping to get vegan scones though!
Pros: Vegan scones :), soya milk

Vegan scone - Edit
I don't like missing out, especially not on holiday.
Read moreI was delighted to be able to have a vegan scone & Green & Pleasant while in the Cotswolds recently, and with a pot of tea & soy milk.
If like me you are with friends/family who enjoy a non-vegan cream tea, here you can both be happy!
A useful destination if passing through the very pretty Bourton on the Water. I hope the demand for "gluten free, egg free, dairy free" baked goods remains, & even increases for my return! :)
Pros: Good option in a very non-vegan area
