Few options, but good. - Edit
That title probably sums up all of Mackinac Island! We both had the beet burger, and it was good! The texture wasn't too mushy and the flavor was good (neither of us like beets, but it didn't taste like beets). Needed cheese, but I don't think there is any on the whole island!

Awesome labeled vegan options - Edit
My partner and I each had the chickpea-beet burger and it was awesome! Totally vegan without needing any modifications, labeled as such, and not super expensive (at least for the area). Came out super quick, too. Food-wise, it was the highlight of our trip to Mackinac Island. The yummy cocktails and beer did not hurt either! 😁

Chickpea-beet burger - Edit
Limited vegan options but the vegan burger on a pretzel bun was very good. Expensive for what it was especially since they charge extra for fries.

Great bar with several great vegan options - Edit
We are here two days in a row. First day, we had the beet-chickpea burger and berry salad, both fresh and delicious. Second day we had vegan chorizo tacos, substituting pickled red onion for cheese, and they were AMAZING, great flavor and texture and very filling. The Bavarian pretzel was huge and delicious; we skipped the cheese sauce but love the hot mustard, although in hindsight I'm not sure it didn't have honey in it, and we forgot to ask. Four house-special spirits, all very good, especially the whiskey. Lots of house-special beers, but not sure which ones may be vegan. Nice atmosphere with live music and both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall we highly recommend Great Turtle but do recommend asking and whether specific items are vegan, since some are marked as such on the menu while some are not. Price is a little high by normal standards but quite reasonable for the island.

Just looked up the mustard. It's Mabs' Atomic Mustard, and their website says it's sweetened with cane sugar, so I guess it's vegan!

Not a lot of options but better than nothing - Edit
Our server was very knowledgeable about what is and us not vegan. Only fully vegan option on the menu is the chickpea burger. I see other people mentioning the onion rings but our server said they have dairy so avoid them.
Read moreYou can get the giant pretzel with just mustard, the Brussels without cheese or bacon, the fries, the chickpea burger, the tacos with vegan chorizo and no cheese, and a few different salads most with modifications. And of course beer.
Pricey but that’s not super surprising. Thanks to our server Megan for being so diligent with talking us through the menu options!

Beyond burger and friea - Edit
You get exactly what you'd expect. Beyond burger and fries. A few of the beers were above average. Good option in an area with limited vegan stuff.

This is one of my go-to places on the island. - Edit
I’ve noticed that more restaurants are adding veg*n options, and I may get around to trying them, but this place is my general go-to. The chickpea beet burger on the pretzel bun is great.

The Roasted Beet Chickpea Burger - Edit
I enjoyed the Roasted Beet Chickpea Burger. The patty fell apart midway eating it, but it was still yummy! I added avocado! Also, I think the patty would be great on top of a salad, if you didn’t want the bun!
