top class resteront with great (100%) vegan food - Edit
I found roots on happycow. My mom took my 2 that area 2 look at apartments because I am moving somewhere in that area. We shopped at roots then had a great dinner at the great sage. At the great sage I had the black bean and roasted corn quesadilla. It is Black beans, sweet corn, green chilies, roasted poblanos, scallions and cilantro with melted Daiya 'pepper jack cheese' in a grilled tortilla. Served with salsa and 'sour cream' on the side. It was a great size meal but expencive. The sour cream tastes really bad but it is on the side so u don't have 2 eat any. 4 a drink I ended up getting coffie. I loved how the waitress asked "do u want soy milk, almond milk or coconut milk in with ur coffie". (she said a few other vegan milks but I forget what they were. I don't know any other resteronts that ofter any vegan milk) I chose soy milk. My mom got the thani 'chicken' salad which is Tossed with soba buckwheat noodles, toasted almonds, scallion, sesame, golden raisins, crisp romaine, peanut sauce and a light Thai chili vinaigrette.Topped with crispy rice noodle. She loved it. I think she had water 2 drink but I forget. Now I absolutely have 2 live in walking distance or have public transportation 2 conscious corner from my apartment. Luckily I haven't picked out an apartment yet. The problem is there are no apartments (that I know of) in walking distance or have public transportation that is in walking distance 2 roots. I can't drive. Please contact me by adding a comment 2 my happycow page if u can help me.

My favorite - Edit
I have eaten at Great Sage many times--it's not far from where my parents lived. It never disappoints. The food is spectacular--and it's all vegan! There are always so many choices--it's hard to decide. And the vegan desserts are to die for. The last time I was there, I had the sweet potato wedges with dip, a tempeh wrap, and lava cake for dessert. Also coffee with almond milk. So good. I highly recommend this place. It's a bit pricey but worth it. The only thing I don't like about Great Sage is the live music that is sometimes going on. It's too loud and makes it hard to converse. Otherwise, a heavenly dining experience.

Great food and great vibes - Edit
I travel to this area for work and I always have to hit up great sage (even though it's a 25-35 min drive from where I stay). Consistently great, and it's a great place to just relax and have a slow dinner. The Caesar salad and Artichoke dip always hit. I also love coming here for brunch. Their lava cake is also a must try and get yourself some cookies to go!

A restaurant exclusively for vegans with decent options. - Edit
I have yet to recall a time when my visit was unpleasant here. When I want to go to a local-ish exclusive vegan restaurant, this is where I typically go. The first time I visited was in late 2023, I think?
Read moreSure, it might seem like some of the items on the menu might've probably been precooked, and were reheated. Nonetheless, it's still pretty decent. I have a handful of favorites, including the adult mac n' cheese, cauliflower buffalo bites, and their famous spinach artichoke dip, just to name a few. I also like some of their seasonal brunch items like the blueberry pancakes, and eggs benedict.
They also have some tasty cookies, too. From what I heard, they're homemade. Ask for gluten free options, if needed.

Absolutely amazing experience and a very friendly waiter. I’d last been a few years ago, and they’ve really seemed to up their game since. I had the mac and cheese, bruschetta, and sin tres leches — each of which were incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend!!

Quality is not great - Edit
I’d like to rate this restaurant more as their food could potentially be good. However it just feels like a lot of the food is not made fresh. My main was clearly pre-made and was just heated up so it was cold in the middle. Likewise the chocolate lava cake was overcooked. Flavours of the food are good just not executed well.

When I was moving to Maryland everyone would say "try the crab cakes!" Well...I'm vegan. But Great Sage to the rescue! I had the crab cake sandwich with fries and it was delicious and filling! This place has a great staff, great good, but it does have California prices.

Good meal in pleasant surroundings - Edit
Started with their famous artichoke dip. Really good. We took a side of corn bread for extra taste. For entree I had the adult mac and cheese. A nice variation which included white beans and broccoli. The servings were big so I wound up taking half the entree home for another meal. But, nevertheless, in any case and so indeed …we split a chocolate lava cake for dessert!! Absolutely delicious.

I've frequented this place countless times, and I must say, the food never disappoints! Whether it's dinner or brunch, the culinary experience here is always top-notch. What's particularly impressive is their commitment to seasonal menus. Personally, I love coming here for my birthday, especially when the fall menu is in full swing—it's truly the best. And let me tell you about the Autumn Crisp—it's an absolute standout! A must-try, without a doubt. Oh, and before you dive into the main course, make sure not to overlook the appetizers. The spinach artichoke dip is simply divine!
