Nice for Breakfast - Edit

We went here for breakfast one morning and really liked the atmosphere. I had the pancakes with cinnamon and agave syrup as well as a coconut water, and my partner chose the club sandwich. Everything tasted really good and was very filling. They also had a really nice chocolate mousse which we couldn't stop ourselves from trying! Super yummy!
It's always great to find entirely vegan places with a nice atmosphere.

Cozy place and lovely menu choices - Edit

Very friendly staff, unusual menu choices which is great!

For me it could have been a bit more spicy/more salt but thats just me.

Unusual taste combinations - Edit

The restaurant is very cozy with welcoming staff. I ordered tempeh with some creamy cauliflower sauce and it was quite tasteless for me, like there was not enough salt and spices/herbs. The desert was great by the way.
The prices were bit higher than average and portions smaller.

Pros: Very polite waiter , Great desserts

Cons: Pricy, Small portions

Great place - Edit

Great Bistro is a small cozy place with a buffet for breakfast and lunch and orders for dinner. The choice is not huge, but everything is very delicious and I highly recommend it.

This place was such a great experience. Food was very tasty, served quickly by a very nice waitress. Faux foie gras was just delicious, my friend was also very satisifed. It is a very nice place to go for a date or another special occasion

Cute little cafe! - Edit

A very pretty little cafe with super friendly staff. They have a different menu each day with a cafeteria style service where you take a tray, queue and point at what you’d like. I think they also have an a la carte menu too. My boyfriend and I both had a deliciously creamy pumpkin and aubergine curry which came with a choice of sides - rice, potatoes, quinoa etc. The other options that day were a Thai coconut soup, lentil fritters, and a few others. There’s also a salad bar and desserts.
We also had a cappuccino and a latte with a choice of soy or rice milk. Altogether, it cost 3900 - about £11. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch!

Pros: Good choices, Friendly staff, Cute decor

Cons: The food could be a little hotter

New experience - Edit

The food was different from most vegan places I've tried. It was good but not great. And the staff were not the friendliest.

Cute - Edit

I really enjoyed this little place. Good and healthy food and english speaking staff. Though currently it is right behind some roadworks, so the entrance is covered. I liked the interior, very cute.

Pros: Nice and healthy vegan options. , Friendly English speaking staff.

Cons: The portions are a bit small, for the price (comp, Currently hidden behind roadworks.

MichalFilípek 05 Dec 2017 - eh, decrease the rating because of the roadworks as it is their fault? Portions are fair for this type of restaurant, i had a good dinner even i eat a lot :)

After living in Budapest for the last month, trying different places, this remains my absolute favourite! Consistently good, even my meat eating boyfriend loves it here. A must for vegans in Budapest!

extremely kind staff, beautiful design. unfortunately the food reminds me of the school catering and it's too expensive. their tofu bacon sandwich worth a try though.

Pros: very nice crew, tofubavon sandwich

Cons: pricey, not so tasty

A must-try vegan restaurant - Edit

We had an a la carte style lunch which consisted of peanut butter tofu, zuchinni fritters (with a nice dipping sauce), mashed potatos, and a colorful salad. Every item was delicious! The meal felt very fresh and nutritious yet did not compromise on flavor. The quantity was very generous too and it provided fuel for a long day's walk exploring Budapest, having walked over from the Buda side. I like that the food was unique and not typical 'western' vegan cuisine. Staff was very friendly and helpful with our ordering. Highly recommend!

Disappointed - Edit

First of all, there was no breakfast, raw cakws nor fresh smoothies available at the moment (we came for this and the description suggested this). Second, the atmosphere was not very pleasant, crowded, elevator music, weird kitsh "doll house" deco.... and third, the food. It was dry, cold, lifeless, tasteless. We had the lunch menu which was very unclear to me. It was overpriced for what it was, I could do much better myself at home. I just don't understand the hype about this place, if I could leave 1 star I would. Looooots to improve

average place - Edit

it's a dual place, during office hours you can eat from menu, which is fine, but not too special. in the weekends you can order a la carte, these are more interesting meals, for double price

lovely breakfast place! - Edit

Finding somewhere which serves vegan food and opens earlier than 11am in Budapest is a challenge - Great Bistro opens at 8am and has a great range for breakfast. I had some lovely buckwheat pancakes with agave and cinnamon (you can have with jam and PB instead), and I've got my eye on the omelette for next time! They also do tofu bacon sandwiches. Only the breakfast menu was in English so I'm not sure what they do for lunch etc. Had a lovely rice milk coffee, and the fresh smoothies looked great too.
Friendly staff, good music, fair prices - definitely worth a visit!
