Pleasantly Delightful Experience

Cozy little place, very flavorful food, Vegan, comfortable setting with friendly staff. All good... very good, a real decent place for a nice treat — at a price.

A must try

The food here is so full of flavour I guess it’s because of the nyonya influences in the food. The nasi lemak, tempeh and fried mushrooms are so good I think they’re a must try (esp the tempeh!!! I’ve never had tempeh so good before). The bakuteh khumbu spaghetti, and petai khombu broth are a worthy mention.

So flavorsome

A very lovely restaurant with a friendly waiter.
I chose the nutmeg fried rice which was so delicious with a beautiful mix of flavors. I asked it be a little bit spicy .. and yes, it was.. just the right amount. #Veganuary

Outstanding food, steep prices!

Very attentive service, stunning interior and beautifully presented food! The food tastes great and the portions are good. Every dish bursts with flavors. The menu is designed beautifully and makes you want to try everything. Prices are steep, but worth it once in a while. Not a place to eat at every day but rather if you want a treat or impress someone!

Pros: Flavorful, Selection

Cons: Price

Outstanding vege food

Me and my girlfriend enjoyed the food very much. Flavourful and light, just as vegeterian asian food has to be in our opinion. The staff was caring and gave us good advice. We will definitely come again.

Pros: Tasty, flavourful and light food, Caring and friendly staff , Cozy ambience

Cons: Lack of various drinks

Wonderful

This is the most classy and most delicious place I came to in George Town, it was an absolute delight! The fried mushrooms were especially delicious. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the vibe of the restaurant itself was very cosy whilst also feeling "special". The food was presented beautifully and tasted fabulous. Completely worth the (slightly) higher price point!

Ticks all the boxes

I'm not too familiar with the food, but I shouldn't have worried, the pleasant lady chose a couple of dishes for me, including a side of sushi made up of 10 vegetables.
I kind of felt bad that I ate it so quick and did not savour the food a bit more.
Okay, prices are a little more than elsewhere , but this is a unique, proper restaurant. And is still a fraction of western prices if you are from outside Malaysia.

Pros: Lots of choice from the menu, including pictures, Helpful staff who checked how I was getting on, Totally unique, nowhere else similar in town

Perfect!!!

I am amazed that Grand Vege has only one review here so far, as we loved it so much! We even went here twice because it was such a good experience.

The restaurant is spacious and very clean, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. They were happy to provide info on the dishes and to answer any questions we had.
On both visits, we ordered several of the smaller dishes to share between us, and everything was delicious. The food is really special and we ate most of our meals in silence just to be able to completely savour the flavours.
The only dish I did not like that much were the veggie fritters because they were quite fatty and heavy on the stomach, but my husband liked them a lot. My favourite were the yuba rolls. All of the other dishes were amazing, too - see my photos if you want to see exactly what we had.
Moreover, the dishes are presented in a beautiful way: Some on gorgeous plates or in very pretty boxes, others are decorated with porcelain flowers. I have never seen anything like it and it made our meals even more special.

The prices are a bit high for Malaysia, but everything is of high quality, so we think it is worth it.

It is a vegetarian restaurant not serving any egg or dairy, so, as far as I know, the only thing to look out for is honey in drinks.

Pros: Almost completely vegan, beautiful meals, Very kind staff, calm atmosphere, Delicious food, a lot of choice

Vegan!!!

It is not easy to find a vegan restaurant with friendly vibe in Penang. The food was above average and the menu was superb. It makes you wanted to taste every single dish on the menu. Love the ambient too. Please come and support.

Pros: good food, good price, good ambient

Cons: beverage can be improved , not enough parking space if crowded
