Not quite what I was expecting - Edit
I was excited to try this place, because the website made it look really special. It was OK, but really just like a dining room in most corporate hotels. Booking form asked for dietary requirements, so they knew a week in advance, but they still didn’t even have the sorbet on their menu (how hard is it to keep sorbet in the freezer?). The only dessert option was chia pudding (we all know that’s the most disappointing of desserts 🥴 - and I bet it wasn’t considered good enough for the omni dessert menu!) Our waiter took pity and found a substitution for me. Otherwise the food was OK, but I think their focus is drinks.

Seperate vegan menu - Edit
Staying at this hotel for work, decided to eat here as I saw they had a seperate vegan menu. I ordered the eggplant gnocchi. What a disappointment, I could have whipped up something far superior in less than 5 mins. The positives are that the staff are lovely and there’s a nice view of the river. Perhaps other dishes on the vegan menu are better, and a bit more inspired. Cost isn’t an issue, as work is paying, but I think I could have gotten a frozen vegan meal from the supermarket and asked them to zap it in the microwave and it would have been better than paying $30 for this.

It's great they have a vegan menu. We tried the potato gnocchi (mushroom, greens, leek, cashew cheese, fennel pollen) and the green lentils root vegetable cassolette, potato, pickles with sourdough.
Read moreThe gnocchi wasn't bad but flavour was average. Texture was nice and it wasn't too bad. My wife didn't like it but I thought it was a pass.
The cassolette was terrible and should be taken off the menu. Bland and without any redeeming features. Even the pickles couldn't help this one.
We also had the sourdough entree off the vegan menu which created some confusion as we were asked if we wanted that vegan too. We'd ordered it from the vegan menu.
If you're staying at this fabulous hotel give it a try but stay away from the cassolette.
Pros: Vegan menu, Bruny Island Stout available, Staff and hotel very nice

Great breakfast option - Edit
Great eatery, I've been for breakfast twice while staying at the hotel, which is very comfortable. I will have dinner here next time I am in Launceston. The seasonal menu keeps the food fresh and different.
Read moreThis visit I had spiced lentils casserole with potato bread and extra house made pickles. The dish was delicious, the flatbread stuffed with potato was the highlight. Can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu.

Really nice flavours - Edit
Very cool that they have a dedicated vegan menu with 2 options per course. We had the gnocchi which was really delicious especially as it had Artisa cheese on it and my favourite oyster mushrooms. Dessert was a black sesame coconut parfait, it was very solid so it was hard to get the spoon through but flavour-wise it hit all the right notes.

Vegan menu! Always a plus! - Edit
I was delighted when I sat down and there was a vegan menu. I had no idea! It made me so happy. From an appetizer, main to dessert the dishes err absurdly wonderful. The mocktails were also great. I highly recommend you check this place out if you are in Launceston.
