I've been craving something sweet but being lactose intolerant it's been difficult to track cake down in Japan.
Read moreThis little shop within Ekie at the station was a real treat.
While they do not advertise them as vegan, the only allergen is wheat, and the staff were very helpful reassuring us this was correct.
You can see the guy making them which is fascinating to watch.
They're only 110 each and have two flavours, so we sampled them both - totally delicious and a real treat for the train

Yummy. Perfect treat. There are two flavors (white and red bean). There aren't any signs indicating it's vegan, but the ingredients list only states "wheat" as an allergen.
