Govinda's is a chain of vegetarian cafe offering vedic cooking. This one is located in the shopping gallery SUMMIT. Reported closed to HappyCow, Oct 2015.
The place is nice, food is OK yet the prices are not cheap, maybe if you have dollars you find it cheap but if you earn rubles is not 'inexpensive' as described above.
Works as a canteen, staff was not particularly warm yet service was good. There was a very good DJ playing that night, also some decorative lamps made of (I want to believe) recycled materials like plastic spoons and paper boxes are a nice touch, plus the always joyful to watch Krishna in Vrindavan pictures.
Out of the restaurants we found in Yekaterinburg, this was the nicest one. Compared to other cities, the food wasn't that great, but options in Yekaterinburg were very limited. Buffet style with a few vegan options. Staff spoke english.
After the meal, we found a coffee shop on the second floor of the mall called Caffeine which had nice espresso (something we had trouble finding elsewhere in the city).
this place is located in a chique office centre building.. for vegans the food is good for a one or two time visit. everyday they have the exact same dishes. the food is pretty much the same as in RADA cafe , the other vegetarian place in town.
white rice with some soy and cooked veggies in sauce. and at least one vegan soup if lucky .
yes the meal is nice and tasty. and not too expensive for western people. a few dollars only. and in the evening it is 50% off ,
so for about a dollar you get a real nice vegan meal. there are a few vegan cake options if lucky. and the tea is really nice.
the decoration is simple and ok . their service here comes with a smile and that is great.
and WIFI is free. nice place to hang out for a vegan lunch for a time.
there are not much other vegan places in town unless you get creative and go to normal places and find yourself a vegan salad. but it is possible. t
he crowd here is nice and are mostly working office people from the neighbourhood.
Loved finding this restaurant in Yekaterinburg with Happy Cow. An easy to use canteen style place and the staff spoke English. Great value and I devoured my plate. Went with 2 carnivores and they loved it too, we would all return.
