Decent food, but nothing to write home about - Edit
Good portion size, flavours were good, but nothing super exciting. Lots of rice and veggies, could've used something a little more filling.
Read moreReally cool that the restaurant is almost 100% vegan.
Pros: Good portion size, Kind service

Confusing - Edit
We looked online and saw that there were options based on the day of the week. We went in asking for a dish listed on the calendar only to find that all the dishes were different in-person. The ordering process was a bit confusing with their specials/combos. The food was pretty average, not very spicy. They were confused when we asked allergen-related questions, so we took a gamble. Luckily, everything was alright!

Your average indian menu - Edit
Small place, very friendly staff. Choice is limited to the daily menu. Small/large, with/without soup.
Read moreFor our taste very spicy. Overall nothing special. Very simple plate of indian food. The waiter was very friendly and after mentioning the spicy food he offered us a cake taster to compensate :)

Delicious food and super friendly owner - Edit
Great location in the city. Been here a couple of times. The last time we came close to closing hours, but the owner was incredibly friendly and provided a great meal to us. Don't look further for more authentic indian vegetarian food!

I had the veg sausage dish with rice and I loved it! It was the perfect amount of spice. I had some great tea with my meal but they also serve lassi here. The desserts here are also delish.

Virkelig kedeligt - Edit
Ville give det 1 stjerne hvis happycow tillod det. Det var det mest smagløse mad jeg har fået. Det smagte som om de havde taget en dåse kidney bønner inkl bønnevand og tømt og så overkogt noget hvidkål i den suppedas.

My favoirite place for a quick meal - Edit
Govinda is on the route from my job to home, so it's one on my most visited restaurants. Especially because it's both cheap and delicious.
Read moreThe menu is different from day to day, but seems quite similar, and will contains of rice and two hot dishes (where at least one is vegan). They furthermore offers vegan soup.
The only downside is that they aren't open Saturday nor Sunday. Also be aware of limited space (the restaurant have room for up to 12 guests), but they always have free seats when I'm here. And they also offers take-away.
But if you look for a quick, cheap dinner at Monday-Friday, Govinda is highly recommendable.
Pros: Cheap, Delicious
Cons: Not open in weekends

One of my top choice - Edit
This was my one of my usual every second day dinner's place in Copenhagen because of the great location and also for the prices as well as the good choices.
Read moreThe restrooms are super.
The staff is so friendly, I got the chance to chat a little with a couple of them who where also traveling.
I was able to bring my own containers close to the closing hour so I could get a better deal on food to take home.
They really help me during my back-pack summer trip (with limited budget) in Denmark, in 2006. So I am glad they are still open.

Great food! Always more than half vegan menu. Menu is totally vegetarian otherwise. Menu is small but changes daily with everything being homemade. Get some mango pickle on the side! Reasonable prices and portions.

There is a small option between 2 curries and a rice. One curry is not vegan. The owner was kind and friendly. The dhall did not taste Indian in my opinion. The food was ok.

A really good place to just pop in, choose your dish, sit down, relax, enjoy and then leave with a healthy light but still filling feeling.

Great for takeaway or a quick sit-down meal. - Edit
Owner was very knowledgeable about which of the day's dishes were vegan (also listed on the restaurant's website). The largest meal option - large helpings of two dishes, rice, and a container of soup - was more than enough for one with leftovers, and was less than 100 DKK. The day's dishes were Indian, and the food was really tasty and filling. Note that restaurant does not accept credit cards, only local Denmark debit cards and cash.

Govinda - needs improvement - Edit
You can get your food to take with you, or eat it at one of thew few tables. I was super hungry, and had to stay and eat it, but felt sort of uneasy.
Read moreOnly one of the, very bland, stews were vegan, and the black bean soup was just NOT good. I was also charged for the big portion, even though I only ordered and was given the small plate. I wanted to like it, but nothing for me was right, nor the food, the price, the location or the vibe.
Cons: Not all vegan

Indian take-away - Edit
This restaurant offers only a few dishes of already prepared Indian foods, so you can just come by, make your order and you get your food right away. The daily menu is shown on their homepage. Every day there seems to be at least one vegan dish. Their foods are typically spicy Indian dishes, very good and tasty. The pricing is very reasonable.

I come here, now and then!
Even though flavour sometimes could be more indian authentical in my book. I'd say nowhere else will you get as good a meal, as cheap!
Nice people! Good atmosphere!

Delicious food! - Edit
I love the food at this place! It tastes great! As the name says it's really just for take away and even though they have option to eat there it's not a very nice atmosphere to stay and eat. But during summer it's great to buy take away and bring it to a park and eat.

Delicious but not without remorse - Edit
My wife and I went there once, had a great vegetarian dinner (two curries with rice, a soup with bread, poppadum, one juice for 160 DKK ~ 22 EUR) but were disappointed about the single-use plastic crockery and cutlery used even for guests dining in. There is a daily menu consisting of two vegetable curries, one preparation of rice, one soup and one starter, and the webpage lists the daily options for the whole week, as well as the prices for the different combinations. There are also juices, lassis, tea and sweets. Staff was helpful and multi-lingual. The place has limited seating -- a couple of tables and a few bar-style seats facing the window.

Now,the singleuse crockery and cutlery is in a biodegradable material, and I actually think higher of the tastes that I once did, Ja!
