RUBBISH - Edit
Sorry but me and my boyfriend had an awful meal. Although the staff were friendly, the waitress didn't clearly explain how it worked , calling it a 'set menu' instead of a 'keep asking for food until you're full' menu so we paid €25 for the smallest 'meal' we have ever had in our lives , and we couldn't even have everything that was on the set menu for that evening. We had soup and salad to start, then half a cup of rice , one battered cauliflower floret (?!?!!?) and a bit of zucchini stuffed with potato. She also gave us fruit which had been drizzled with honey, which was an honest mistake but luckily we checked. Would never go back - so overpriced. You're better off going to a typical Italian place , paying a lot less , getting a decent meal from the get-go and better atmosphere as it's in this dark room you have to buzz into from the street.

delicious food, friendly atmosphere - Edit
I went to Govinda twice so far, both times for lunch and loved it! The food is very flavorful. They managed to make a small vegan plate for me which consists of 4 little bowls and it costs 9,50 EUR, with bread and fruit infused water included, which I consider a good deal, especially in the center of Milano. The portion is big enough to get full. There is a bigger option for 13,50 EUR but it may be vegetarian and not always vegan. The stuff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The only disadvantages are: you need to pay 5 EUR for a yearly membership the first time you go (that adds up if you're a tourist and would like to go there just once) and you need to share the table with strangers, which is fine if you want to have a nice chat with very friendly people but not great if you're looking for some quiet time just by yourself. You must be also aware that it's a very Hare Krishna place, where the weitresses will welcome you with "Hare Krishna" and offer you a book to read about it, which is nothing bad or dangerous, but just be aware of it :-) Overall, it's a great place to eat!

Tasty and filling lunch - Edit
The restaurant was very crowded at lunch time but there still was enough space for everyone. The vegan thali was very good both times we went there, and they served delicious barley coffee afterwards. The atmosphere in general is very warm and friendly.
Pros: Central location, Good food and plenty of it, Spiritual atmosphere

friendly place, but mediocre food - Edit
The set meal was bland. Altough some indian ingrediants are used, don't expect anything that tastes like in India.

vegetarian food prepared with love - Edit
This is a secret little place nestled in the center of Milan and it is packed every day. You sit in communal tables and always meet cool people here. The food is made with love and is simply delicious and an amazing value for your money. You can have as many dishes as you like if you choose the open menu. Govinda is a gem for the center of milano!
