Okay vegan food - Edit
When we arrived in the evening, the restaurant was pretty much fully booked due to a birthday party. The waiter seated us at a table outside, which was not great to be honest, as the overall flair of the area is a bit shady and not the most inviting. Luckily a little bit after the food arrived, a table inside freed up. Although we had to ask if it's possible to move inside and had to carry our own plates. I think they were quite overwhelmed because there was this huge birthday party.
Read moreThe food came out reasonably quickly though, and the taste was quite good / okay.
There are a few different restaurants that offer in my opinion more tasty vegan pizza in Bangkok.
The antipasti plate was okay, but overall just very fatty and the food made us extremely tired and full in an unpleasant way as a lot of oil is used in everything.
I found the place to be unreasonably expensive as well. It's nice they make their own cheese. Personally I wouldn't come back, it was an okay one-time experience.
Pros: vegan cheese, English is spoken
Cons: unreasonably pricy, not too friendly/helpful staff

Italiano a su manera - Edit
Es un restaurante italiano con una clara influencia india.
Read morePedimos pizza y brochetas:
Pros: Terraza acogedora.
Cons: Pizzas con masa demasiado fina., Servicio algo lento.

Lots of variety but not all freshly made - Edit
I have the impression that the pizza base/sauce came ready made, the vegan cheese consisted of small cube sprinkled on, then the other veg was just added by hand. Overall the pizza was decent but in no way award-winning or freshly made. When you have so many items on the menu it must be hard to be craft each one with care and authenticity. Overall not bad but hard to rate it highly.

Great menu with so many choices - Edit
Visited this place on 2 occasions, purely due to their extensive menu. First visit we sat inside, it can get kinda cold with the air con going so note that. Second we sat outside which was much better.
Read moreStaff were friendly although there is a language barrier with us not speaking any Thai and them not understanding much English. Which was ok, all we did was point at what we wanted and the waitress understood perfectly.
Now from the menu I tried the Bruschetta (both pesto and tomato). Both really good, the pesto one tasted so homemade but the tomato one was absolutely delicious. Had french fries and potatoes with onions. And for mains I had the salami pizza and vegan bolognese. These weren’t the best, pizza tasted very similar to a uk takeaway pizza and the lasagne didn’t taste of lasagne but rather some sort of pasta dish. I also had the strawberry Italian soda. On my first visit it was great, second it was far too sweet.
Overall I enjoyed my experience at Govinda. The food was nice and the range of things a vegan can pick from was huge. I’d recommend vegans visiting whilst in bangkok.
Pros: Extensive vegan menu, Decent pricing, Friendly staff
Cons: Food wasn’t amazing

My first few times dining here was 20 years ago and hadn't been back in 18 years. It was great back then and even better now. Lovely setting, nice staff and great vegan food. SERVES ALCOHOL too! Beer, wine and cocktails. Great for solo diners, couples and even large groups.

Yay vegan pizza! - Edit
Such a luxury being able to have “real” vegan pizza in Southeast Asia. This place has a huge menu and good vegan cheese! Prices are quite steep though, since most pizzas cost 300 baht.

Great service, super friendly staff and many vegan options. Enjoyed the vegan pizza (although would’ve been nicer with a whole-wheat base!) and the grilled veggie combo.

Great food - Edit
I love the place, but I didn't go there for a while as I don't live in Bangkok. They have new staff. I clearly ordered a vegan pizza, and confirmed double as she didn't seem to speak much English. I thought the vegan cheese was improved a lot, but it turned out that it wasn't vegan at all. As a vegan this is totally unacceptable of course. I didn't have to pay the bill, and the manager was very upset about the new worker also, so you have to be careful if want vegan food, ask the manager to confirm its vegan. I come to this place for 15 years already, and this is the first time it went wrong.

Ok pizza. Nice people. Nice ambience. - Edit
The vegan pizza was just ok. Definitely had better in the US. The vegan cheese wasn't really melted, so there were lots of little cubes on the pizza. There was some blackened tofu substance that was quite tasty, but the faux pepperoni didn't do it for me. It's a thin pizza, slightly crispy.

The menu is a mix of vegetarian and vegan, but mostly everything can be made vegan. The food was tasty and fresh. My carnivore friends didn't seem overly impressed but they ate everything! Not expensive.

I give it 50/50 - Edit
The location is cute and tucked away. Of 4 dishes we got, 2 were good: the angel hair with pesto and aglio olio with spaghetti were delish. The traditional tomato spaghetti was lacking in flavor, which I think should be an important dish to make special since a lot of people order it. And the salad was small for the price. Service was slow but the staff were nice and polite and that seems to be consistent. It was not busy when we arrived but got busy as the night went on. We waited a very long time for food. I thought this was because perhaps they were making homemade pasta but I do not believe my spaghetti noodles were homemade. It seems like this place gets busy often so I would have thought they would be prepared but they seemed to all be running around. Perhaps more staff would solve the issue. I would check it out for the 2 dishes I mentioned as the pesto was really good. But, make sure you have time and go during off peak dinner hours.
