Heads up - 7/31/24-this place’s kitchen is currently being renovated so they don’t have any of the sandwiches and things listed in reviews below. They just have smoothies, juices and açaí bowls right now.

Not being dramatic at all, but this place is sssooo amazing! Great owners, great staff, great service and of course great food! The smoothies are also amazing. The prices are great! And their market next store is just as amazing. Highly recommend this establishment! the taco salad (so far) is my favorite. Still working my way through their great menu

Hidden Treasure in a Desert of Vegan Food! - Edit
I thought this restaurant was a mirage when searching for something to eat while visiting my elderly parents in Rockland County. My dad was insistent on going to Kentucky Fried Chicken, I never had any sway on their food choices, and I was going to stop at a supermarket to get some hummus for dinner. On a whim I decided to drive a little further on 9W to check out a small strip mall and to my surprise Good Roots was there and open for the next 10 minutes. It presents as a fast food juice place but to my surprise the daily special was a vegan reuben! There is nothing I love me more than a reuben! The flavors were spot on and the sweet potato fries were also fantastic. The menu had all of my beloved comfort foods and some special surprises to match the diverse cultures of the owners. The staff was friendly and helpful, the prices were reasonable and the foot was fantastic. As a fellow vegan I want them to do well so PLEASE if you are close to this spot in Rockland, maybe heading up to the catskills, stop by and try them out. xo Nikki

Great all plant based menu selection. Several tables for dine-in eating, very clean. Had the Chik'n bacon ranch pizza, Reuben Sandwich and Vegan Quesadilla, we loved it all including sweet potato fries!!! Great staff who help with recommendations. Must try them if you haven't already.

Food tasted healthy while still being very savory. The vegan burrito had a smokey taste. The vegan quesadilla was so amazing. I wish I could of tried everything on the menu.

A wonderful place to stop after a long hike! - Edit
We went hiking at Bear Mountain which is about 15 min away from here - it was perfect because it's on our way back to the city. Glad I found this space!
Read moreWe had the classic acai bowl, the buffalo chc'n wrap, the good roots chic'n sandwich and a margherita pizza. Super reasonably priced and you get a TON of food- we had a lot of leftovers! Fries and acai bowl were absolutely amazing. Loved the wrap and sandwich as well - the roots sandwich was a double-decker so it's seriously a ton of food! Pizza was flavored so well and the amount of cheese was very generous!
I would love to go back next and sample the rest of the smoothie and acai bowl menu, as well as the grain bowls they offer. Manager and staff are so kind and incredibly considerate regarding what specifically isn't vegan - (the only things to consider are with the acai bowls/smoothies: the honey, nutella and one of the granolas is not vegan).

We had the best lunch today at Good Roots! We got two sandwiches, the Bacon Chicken Ranch wrap and the Buffalo Chicken wrap, and we could not decide which one was our favorite.

We were lucky enough to meet the manager/owner while we were there and he's the nicest guy ever. Def worth going out of the way if you are in the area.

This is my new go-to for food after hiking bear mountain! The juice bar menu is full of good classics such as burgers, wraps and paninis but with an inventive vegan twist. The food was prepared fairly quick and staff was very accommodating. Sweet potato fries cooked to perfection. Buffalo sauce from the Buffalo Chic wrap was wonderful. Even stopped by the market next door to pick up some snacks, they're stocked with some great vegan choices

Hidden Gem in Haverstraw - Edit
I travel the country for my job and have been to quite a few health food stores. This one has the best prices that I've seen in the US. They're a new store and are still adding more items, but they have quite a bit already. The store is much larger than appears from outside. They had quite a few vegan items that I have had trouble finding at other stores. They even have bulk dried herbs. The young couple running the store greeted me with a warm smile as I entered and offered assistance right away. They were very knowledgeable about their products. I wish I had a store like this where I live. They even had toilet paper, bottled water, and a wide range of elderberry concentrates that none of the other stores in the area have.
