Yummy sandwich - Edit
I was surprised to find a place with more than one vegan option in Bethel! I got the veggie wrap with hummus and it was delicious. The veggies tasted very fresh and food was made quickly.

Some great vegan items in the shop and super fresh produce. Surprisingly well stocked on Asian food condiments. The tempeh 'blt' was delicious, especially paired with a Maine Root Co beverage.

They could provide vegan options that are not cooked with the animal meat. The person behind the counter was not helpful, nor were they friendly. If you are an ethical vegan, and not just plant based, I would stay away.

This store has a nice selection of vegan grocery items from produce to egg/dairy alternatives. They also offer veggie/vegan sandwich options and the option to create your own sandwich.

Read moreDuring the winter I've been known to grab a big bowl of one of their soups too, just based on the smell in the store. They almost always have a vegetarian or vegan option.
They have a lot of groceries for special diets, so if you're in Bethel it's really the only place to get something gluten-free, or vegan....
The salads are always fresh, and custom sandwiches are all made to order. They use great breads (Borealis, and their own ciabatta, etc) so don't be afraid to give them a try. Daily special sandwiches are pretty creative, and they'll make them veg or vegan if you ask. The locals all know this is the best place for a really good lunch take-out ;)
(They have homemade pies on the weekends too.)
And the big "not-to-miss" is a huge homemade pumpkin whoopie pie (not vegan, but I used to eat them all the time when I was plain vegetarian)
Some veg people may be turned off by the Smokin' Good BBQ trailer and BBQ smoker in the parking lot, but I say "let them eat meat" if they want. My carnivore friends seem to really love it. So if you're traveling with meat-eaters, they'll be happy here too, which is a good thing.
