功德林 brand was originally established in 1922. The famous writer Lu Xun visited this place in the early '20s. As the place and concept grew in popularity, it expanded into chain restaurants and veggie snack specialty stores. Strong flavors and a lot of mock meat. Try kao fu with mu'er, or the veggie crab spawn, vegetarian chicken, or the veggie moon cake. Reported Nov 2019 to now have limited vegan options, please send updates to HappyCow. The food we got here was probably our least favourite, but it was still good. Mains around 40-60 cny.

Amazing food, beautiful neighborhood - Edit
Wonton soup is particularly out of this world, the staff is very kind and accommodating, and the neighborhood is beautiful with lots of trees lining the street. The staff is chinese speaking (it is China) if you don’t speak chinese it may be best go with a local friend. Great introduction to vegan food for non-vegans!

Clean shop, only one option - Edit
Only wonton soup available for dine-in, tasty but seems expensive. Shop keeper was friendly. Environment was very nice.
