Amazing vegan food

Gomier is a vegan chef. He was the first person to become vegan in Santa Lucia. He came to Punta Gorda and opened his restaurant. The food is amazing, whether you are vegan or not, you must try his dishes. Also, he’s so charming and nice.

Pros: The food is extremely delicious

Worth traveling to Punta Gorda for

Gomier is the best thing we've experienced foodwise in Belize. The place is renovating but you forget that once the gates of heaven open and the first bite lands on your tongue. Gomier is a wizard, He cooks from scratch and with instinct. And he really knocks your socks off.
he didnt have a menu. But he doesn't need one. Sit down and let him word his magic. Soon people will line up to experience this.

Pros: Amazing dish, Warm welcome

Delicious

Stopped by for lunch today. Gomier put together a beautiful plate for me - tofu scramble, veggies, brown rice, and black beans. Delicious, and such a treat to find tofu and brown rice in Belize! Seating is at a large table by the river. What a great find!

Worth driving to PG just to eat here!!

Gomier's is a fantastic, everything from scratch restaurant. Gomier, the owner/chef, only serves fish because there aren't enough vegans and vegetarians who come to PG to keep him in business. Our dinner was so fantastic that we came back for a second night. We savored every bite of our house made tofu with an extraordinary sauce, the best black beans EVER, a coconut curry vegetable stew, and fresh stir fry vegetables - the meal was out out this world. Fresh juice, no sugar added... perfect!!! Beautiful environment - next to the river and across from the sea. Can't wait to return to PG to eat here again.

Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Belize!

Gomier makes excellent vegetarian meals, all from scratch. My favorite is the bbq tofu but other great options are curry tofu, hummus, lasagna, and burritos. The fresh fruit juices are amazing! Don't forget to finish the meal with homemade soy ice cream made from fresh fruit. I have been all over Belize (this is my 5th trip) and it is the best veg restaurant in the country. I would give this restaurant 5 stars but unfortunately happy cow won't allow it since the restaurant also sells seafood and they only allow 5 stars for exclusively vegan restaurants. Gomier is incredibly nice and is willing to share his knowledge of PG with you. A few important notes - the restaurant has relocated to the water front, on the southern highway north of PG. It is right next to Beya Suites in a building labeled with a sign that says Tropic Inn. Also it is usually closed at 6pm on for Friday and for lunch on Sat. Otherwise, it is usually open for lunch and dinner Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sun. Sometimes it is closed for lunch on Sun but not always. Alcohol is no longer served because the owners of the property that Gomier rents from are 7th Day Adventist.

Pros: Amazing homemade food, Majority of the food is from a local, organic farm, Gomier is very friendly, welcoming, and warm

Cons: It may be a wait, but good food always takes time

A little bit of heaven in a veg food desert

My son, Timothy Russell and I ate breakfast there today. Good food, good juices, good prices, good vibes and a very knowledgeab;e owner. He can make everything vegan or vegetarian for you. He only added the fish to make the place more acceptable to the locals and a wider customer base. This is the only veg friendly place I found in Punta Gorda (well you can always get a bowl of rice and beans at most places but I like variety and supporting people/companies that share my beliefs).
I find that few places cater to vegetarians travellignm in this area of the world.

Pros: Good food, Good prices, Good vibes

Cons: Quite rustic

Great Carib Dining

This has got to be one of the best mostly vegan restaurants in the Caribbean. Gomier is a rasta from St Lucia who cooks everything by hand with the very freshest and best ingredients, The setting is rustic but simple, this is the poorest district in Belize, remember, but the food is world class. Big portions, reasonably priced.

Pros: Taste, Healthy, Friendly

Cons: Can be noisy, Small dining room if raining, May be a wait for service if it is busy.
