Good food and vegan friendly staff - Edit
They have dishes on their menu that are vegan by default, but as soon as I told that I was looking for vegan options it turned out that they can veganize much more dishes. I went there twice and both time I enjoyed the food.

Well I ordered dinner d for $14.95 last night the chicken chow mein was the worst chow mein I have ever had and I was not happy with my meal and I just called them and told them I was not happy with my meal last night and the person I spoke to acted like they didn't even care and all she says I'll speak to my manager about it I will not order from this place again especially paying that price and getting crappy food

I was very impressed. Y'all Boisians are lucky to have this place! The server was super friendly and welcoming and was delighted to tell me all about the vegan options they have to offer. I tried the vegan potstickers, the double mushroom tofu, and the vegan hot and sour soup. All were incredible. I'll most definitely be coming back! Often!

SO MANY Vegan Options! - Edit
I am simply amazed at the huge variety of vegan dishes and starters that Golden Wok offers. I will say there was one visit when I was underwhelmed by my meal, by for the most part, I have enjoyed my meals there. Definitely more oily than I typically eat, so this is an occasional choice for me.

Not a separate menu - Edit
I was hopeful when I saw their website said "ask about our vegan/vegetarian menu" after seeing Happy Cow state they had one. Upon arriving at the restaurant they in fact, do not. They give you their normal menu and tell you they can make anything on it vegan, but what that means is they will replace tofu for meat in any dish. However, that is an untrue statement, as certain dishes like soups that are pre-made (obviously not), chow mein noodles contain egg, and probably a few other things that consideration is overlooked (I didn't ask about everything like sauces and oil used for frying).
Read moreComplimentary hot and sour soup came out first and was pretty decent although heavily thickened with cornstarch. We got the vegan egg rolls and vegan wontons. It was nice to have some fried Chinese food but the wontons were pretty bland. Egg rolls were probably the best item we had. Shared kung pao tofu for dinner which was ok, but nothing to write home about. It was odd that it had Serrano peppers in it. Sauce was also very heavy in cornstarch.
I appreciate they have vegan options but the rarity I crave Chinese food and how heavy I felt after eating here, I might go only once or twice a year. Our server was excellent and very helpful so for that I would give it 4 stars but because the food was underwhelming I would give it 2, so I averaged it out to 3.
Pros: Vegan options where we have few choices to go, Probably the only closer-to-authentic Chinese here, Good portions for cost

I’ve tried several of their vegan options. Everything was amazing! I was never a seafood fan, so will skip the crab! Run, don’t walk to try this place! You’ll be glad you did!

BEST VEGAN CHINESE FOOD EVER! - Edit
I’ve never had vegan Chinese food that was so flavorful and true to the original recipes. They have SO many choices on their separate and entirely vegan menu. We got the vegan egg rolls, the vegan sweet and sour tofu, and the vegan general’s tofu and all three were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu. Please give them their business for either dine-in or takeout and you will not be disappointed!

So desperately wanted to like this but yikes… it was not great. The vegan crab rangoon tasted like rotten fish which was incredibly off putting. The rest of the dishes we got were average at best but we just couldn’t get the rangoon taste out of our mouths. The staff were incredibly sweet and knowledgeable, though.

Staff is very knowledgeable about vegan options. They have a delicious vegan crab Rangoon and they said they can customize things to be vegan as well. I got organize tofu, rice and broccoli it was delicious
