Vegan, cute bar and eatery - Edit
This was tucked away on the third floor , cool decorations with a retro, funky, Californian vibe. We had the Californian sushi rolls and sushi taco with fries- all were amazing!

Amazing sushi, great atmosphere! - Edit
Loved this place! The sushi was so good and not your standard boring basic sushi rolls. We got the Sunset Strip party set. You get 32 sushi pieces with a variety of delicious and mild spicy flavors. Restaurant has a cool chill vibe with a Dj playing music. Great place!

Amazing flavours & textures but expensive - Edit
The place looks very cool and service was also super kind and caring.
Read moreTexture & flavours of sushi and the tofu starters were insane.
They also offer a lot of different cocktails with and without alcohol.
The only point it is very expensive.

Wacky vibe, amazing food, OK service - Edit
This place immediately has some personality with its decor and ambiance. The food was actually some of the best vegan I’ve had in BKK, the Chorizo taco, pad Thai and Szechuan Tofu were all incredible. The only downside was the service was a bit aloof.

Coolest place in Bangkok - Edit
This is officially my favourite food/drinks place in Bangkok. Amazing drinks, delicious food, great venue. Everything is vegan and delicious and prepared quickly. There is more than sushi on the menu. It’s a mix between California, Japan and Thailand and it works! The staff if super friendly and you can pay with card. I can’t wait to be back!

Funky Retro Vibes & Creative Sushi - Edit
For more vegan Thailand travel content: https://www.itravelforveganfood.com/
Read moreIf you want a fun night out in Bangkok Sukhumvit with some creative vegan food, Golden State Vegan Sushi is a great choice. The vibe here is super cool and retro, with colorful lights, and sometimes even a live DJ playing music. Also, it stays open until midnight.
The menu focuses on fusion sushi, and I tried the "Tokyo Tower" platter which has a massive 36-piece mix of delicious sushi rolls and sushi tacos. My favourite inside were the Volcano roll, which had a great spicy-creamy kick, and the Caterpillar roll featuring eggplant that mimicked unagi (eel) texture. They also do great appetizers like Tokyo Fry Tofu and some refreshing cocktails and mocktails. Even though the price is on the higher-side, it's worth the splurge.
Just a quick heads-up: double-check the address if you are using Grab or Bolt, as the apps might send you to their old location which is 15 minutes away.

Very average food and expensive - Edit
Whole time way playing the music in the kitchen and also in restaurant that makes terrible atmosphere. Food was very average and small. 100 bath for bottle of water 7% tax 10% service fee 😂 not surprised that there was completely empty. Do not recommend at all.

You need to enter a different business RR Space, go to the rear and up the stairs. Probably walked by the correct door on street level because we were looking for an elevator 🤦🏻♀️

The location now opposite Phrom Phong is very convenient just across of Emsphere and then 3rd floor
The nigiri selection is amazing and a great mix of everything. The Aubergine is so soft! Really nice - all nigiri great. I highly recommend the avocado and orange mix. Fresh thinly sliced avocado and with a nice refreshing light sauce! Pairs nicely. Cool vibrant interior and amazing staff. Very attentive and friendly! Highly recommend
Wow! I am a huge fan of plant-based sushi and have one favourite back in Cologne (MakiMaki) which sets the bar quite high.
Golden State is all vegan and in a beautiful setting. Interior and design is cozy / romantic and service is professional.
I can highly recommend the cocktails as well
The California Sour was dreamy. Great taste with a vegan creamy foam on top.
Wasn’t too strong, so if you can’t handle alcohol well you can still order it. They also have some Happy Hour (best look on their website).
I loved the chef’s selection as well! 16 pieces of goodness. The nigiri and 4 deep fried crunchy rolls were outstanding
Everything did not only look pretty, but was delicious. Hard to pick a fav, but maybe the mushroom nigiri (also fried haha) was super crunchy and delicious. But honestly every piece was great
The caterpillar was a great and refreshing roll with avocado
They also have some great starters like Szechuan tofu, Yuzu fried tofu or Satay like tofu. Everything is fresh and I understand why they’re award winning now!

Neo-izakaya serving delicious Japanese fusion - Edit
Golden State Vegan Sushi offers a rich menu of rich food (with prices to match) in a casual and colorful club-like setting. The main food focus here is creative plant-based interpretations of sushi and sashimi plus a few western comfort-food items, so the menu is Japanese-ish, but this isn't the place to get your traditional Japanese staples.
Read moreTheir sushi is delicious, more in the "flavor explosion" sense than the traditional Japanese "perfectly balanced" sense. I wouldn't go out of my way to repeat the watermelon "tuna," but everything else was exceptionally tasty.
Service is attentive and helpful.
Enjoy!

Totally overpriced for mediocre food - Edit
To be honest, when we saw the price of everything, we ordered a couple of starters first and then we were going to see how we felt afterwards before ordering more. We were not impressed, the food was mediocre at best. Then they slapped on 7% tax and 10% service so for 2 starters, a beer and a glass of wine, it cost us €34! I can eat much better and cheaper in Spain.

Holy Maki and the Seaweeds - Edit
Very inventive vegan sushi and a huge menu. The service was friendly and its a very “American” vibes place-if you speak English and are from the States, this place is catering to you. Got the sushi party. Sushi was amazing, the place made us also feel at home because it was expensive by Bangkok standards but normal/low priced for what a fancy dinner out in the States costs.
