Not impressed

My husband and I tried to eat here in years past but we were told there were no vegan and gluten free options. We saw that Happy Cow app had them and we could eat here. We were so excited. My husband got the plant based pasta. He said it was decent. It stated on the menu that there were supposed to be local mushrooms in it and there were none, so that was sad. I ordered the curry. It says on the website that the curry is over Jasmine rice but in fact they do not buy jasmine rice anymore and it was made with sushi rice. The sushi rice was way overcooked. Basically mush, you could hardly see the grains of the rice. It was disgusting. I told the manager and he did not seem to care even though he did comp our meal. Although comping arm was nice, I was just trying to let him know for future customers that this was not a good dish. It hardly had flavor, the mushrooms were chewy and you can totally tell the eggplant was previously frozen. Not good. At all. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you are gluten free and vegan.

Pros: Waiter was nice.

Cons: Terrible management , Food not as described , Outdated

Four Vegan Entrees!

St. Simons does not have a lot of vegan options anywhere, so I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to see I had options at Golden Isles Olive Oil!! They have 4 vegan options on the menu— a plant based flatbread and pasta with field roast sausage, red curry, and a banh mi sandwich with tofu! I had the flatbread and it was really good!! I’ll definitely be back. Also everything is labeled so you know what’s vegan on the menu😄
