Clean and healthy food - Edit

As a long time vegetarian I’ve never been drawn to Japanese inspired food. Today I decided to try Gokuku ramen shop. I love the curry ramen. So delicious! I wish I still lived nearby because I would make this a regular stop.

Pros: Delicious!

yum - Edit

I love coming to this place. They give generous portion sizes and the customer service is always great. My favorite is the mushroom ramen and I love that they're always very nice about me bringing my own handkerchiefs, utensils, and straws. This place is underrated in my opinion.

Ramen with Chinese taste - Edit

Saw this on happycow and had been wanting to give it a try. Was in the area this week and stopped by with friends. Here's my Gokoku Vegetarian Ramen Shop review.

We got a few dishes to share: the Mayu spicy ramen, the curry ramen, and a bibimbap with sauce on the side. The Mayu one had good flavor. The curry ramen was too salty. The bibimbap is served with cold toppings but the sauce is warm and tasted okay though a bit bland.

Overall, we all though the meal was okay. I would be curious to try the other dishes from the specials board next time. I would order the Mayu ramen again but not the other two.

Pros: comfortable little place

Cons: curry ramen too salty

tasty ramen - Edit

Just went for lunch today with a friend who has gone several times before. She loves them. We each ordered a ramen bowl. I got the mayu garlic jalapeno one. It was very tasty and filling. I liked all the fried garlic and charred peppers. Dirk has gotten the bibimbap bowl to go for me before and I enjoyed that as well. The server was very friendly and attentive and the decor is nice with plenty of single seating at the counter in addition to tables. When we ordered, we were asked if we wanted to add egg, which is the one negative for them. I wish they were all vegan, but I'll be back in any case to try the other dishes.

Pros: tasty ramen and other dishes, friendly service

Cons: serves egg

gets better with each bite - Edit

Cute little ramen place - parking lot on side and street metered parking. Big servings! I had the tantan ramen and at first I was thinking... this is a little bland - but about five bites in it had tons of flavor and was delicious. Love the veggies and toppings it comes with. My bowl was $12.99 I believe. Left FULL! Attentive service. Highly recommend :)

Vegan Ramen! - Edit

Enjoyed the Hard Tofu Ramen and the pickled radish and carrots. I did not like the Kimchi but I have little experience with that dish. Tasted a little of the eggplant dish! That was good. The place is charming, the service good.

Delicious Ramen in the Valley - Edit

This is a cozy place along Lankershim that has really great vegetarian Japanese food. I want to say authentic besides of course no animal products besides an egg option.

They have a variety of types of ramen. I choose the Tan Tan Men and I loved it. The broth was filled with flavor, good amount of noodles, and fresh vegetables. They have rice dishes and sides, but you have to try the ramen.

Check them out.

Pros: Great food, Attentive customer service, All vegetarian; close to all vegan

YESSSSSS!!! VEGAN DELICIOUSNESS!! - Edit

I can't begin to contain my excitement that this is in the valley! Down the street from Universal Studios. It's all vegan, but they do offer the option to add a hard boiled egg which is why the call themselves vegetarian. Other than that...ALL VEGAN! I got the mayu garlic jalapeño ramen (spicy!) and the boyfriend got the bibimbap (also a hint spicy). SO delicious. They just opened....let's support this amazing little restaurant! Being so close to home is dangerous...I will be frequenting them several times a week!!

Pros: Food is SO full of flavor and all vegan!!, Super friendly staff, Perfect portions...not too much, not too little

Cons: NONE
