Very good - Edit
I was so excited to try this place. The ramen was delicious; very flavorful broth and really yummy garlicky noodles. That was probably my favorite part. We had 3 sushi items, and while they were good, they were a bit on the heavy side (with all the tempura and Mayo). The spicy tuna crispy rice dish was so good in terms of flavor; I would have preferred the crispy rice cubes to be a bit smaller as it was too much rice for the rest of the toppings. The caterpillar roll was very good. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an entire hour to get our food... we sat outside and I am pretty sure they forgot about us. That was a bit frustrating but oh well. The staff was nice; I think maybe a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people that arrived after us (everyone seemed to get served before us). Next time I’d like to try the eggplant dish, as the pics looks amazing. And probably call ahead to order... lol.

Unique, flavorful and filling - Edit
Ordered takeout tonight and it was wonderful. I've been wanting to try their food for a while and it exceeded my expectations.
Read moreThe food is unique, flavorful, filling, and each dish is a generous portion for the price. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had plenty of leftovers for lunch.
Customer service was very kind, though the staff felt frazzled as it was quite busy at 7pm on a Friday. There seemed to be a bunch of takeout orders and there were at least 4 full tables (it's a small place so this was 3/4 full).
There is indoor and outdoor dining on the patio, plus lots of signs about their COVID policies.
I went through their menu, photos, and Yelp reviews to help me narrow down what to order because it was hard to decide.
The Fried Spicy Crispy Tofu was super flavorful though not very crispy (maybe because of takeout)
Tempura Vegan Shrimp Roll (wonderful)
Popcorn Vegan Roll (huge portion, very filling and flavorful)
Kabocha Rice (delicious and feels healing like a macrobiotic dish)
Next time I'd like to try the Spicy Tuna Roll and Mushroom Ramen (or any ramen) as those were highly rated.
The food was gorgeous. Didn't take photos because I was too hungry and ate in my car!
It was easy to find street parking, many street spots on a Friday, and signage was unclear if there are spots for the restaurant in the lots.
Pros: Flavorful, unique dishes, Filling, generous portions, Well priced

Amazing. All vegan! - Edit
I was in the mood for sushi and was not disappointed with this place. They were super busy and had an issue with receiving our online order, but they were apologetic and made it as quickly as possible. I’d recommend calling in your order just to be safe. Everything was delicious and filling! I love the customizable noodles option for the ramen!

Ridiculously good. - Edit
Gokoku recently added vegan sushi to their menu and it’s now one of my favorite spots. Tons of vegan sushi items with ingredients such as vegan crab, vegan caviar, eggplant, tempura, the list goes on. The rolls are big and very filling too. I definitely recommend ordering from here!

The best vegan sushi and atmosphere - Edit
This place is one of my favorite spots in Los Angeles. I’ve been to Japan three times and I’ve frequented other vegan sushi spots throughout the city. This one tastes the most home style delicious. The head chef strictly uses fresh vegetables and ingredients that transport me somewhere else. When she’s at the restaurant she might even make you a roll off the menu. I’m so grateful this place exists because it takes me back to japan and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Great Spot - Edit
Love having this place within walking distance. It’s a small restaurant and often bustling. Lots of great ramen options and once we finally ventured outside of ramen, was pleasantly surprised by the wider menu. Some of their appetizers were nothing special but the entrees are great.

Best Vegan Ramen I’ve found in SoCal thus far!! Ramen was very flavorful, spicy, and actually had substance. The menu is vegan (unless you request egg) and full of flavorful dishes that are sure to please every pallet!

happy customer :) - Edit
I always seem to end up here when I'm craving ramen. The food is always consistent. I've never tried anything else on their menu but everything sounds delicious. It has a really good broth and the noodles are always nice and chewy. I always leave satisfied even when I go in thinking I could eat three bowls. The service is always pleasant as well. Parking is quite easy to find.

You get what they serve you:-) - Edit
Haha. We ordered three menu items and they screwed up two. They are super nice though. Glad this veg ramen place exists. They have low fat, gluten-free and soy-free options. Wish they’d stop offering egg (the only non-vegan item) due to the great cruelty of the egg industry. And you know people in town have vegan eggs for use in ramen dishes (see Shojin, Cross Roads and Ramen Hood). Cute little storefront - ambience is Fast food style w Asian food shows on tv. Fun!

Definitely nothing special unfortunately. Still haven’t had anything even close to Ramen Hood. The noodles were pretty salty. It was distracting at times. The potstickers were definitely the best item I had. It was worth a try, but I probably wouldn’t come back.

Everyone in my party got a build your own ramen and everyone loved it! The classic broth is so tasty! If you are trying to reduce carbs they offer extra veggies instead of noodles (they also offer gluten free ramen noodles). Everything is vegan unless you add an egg to it. Would highly recommend!

As a long time vegetarian I’ve never been drawn to Japanese inspired food. Today I decided to try Gokuku ramen shop. I love the curry ramen. So delicious! I wish I still lived nearby because I would make this a regular stop.

I love coming to this place. They give generous portion sizes and the customer service is always great. My favorite is the mushroom ramen and I love that they're always very nice about me bringing my own handkerchiefs, utensils, and straws. This place is underrated in my opinion.

Ramen with Chinese taste - Edit
Saw this on happycow and had been wanting to give it a try. Was in the area this week and stopped by with friends. Here's my Gokoku Vegetarian Ramen Shop review. We got a few dishes to share: the Mayu spicy ramen, the curry ramen, and a bibimbap with sauce on the side. The Mayu one had good flavor. The curry ramen was too salty. The bibimbap is served with cold toppings but the sauce is warm and tasted okay though a bit bland. Overall, we all though the meal was okay. I would be curious to try the other dishes from the specials board next time. I would order the Mayu ramen again but not the other two.

tasty ramen - Edit
Just went for lunch today with a friend who has gone several times before. She loves them. We each ordered a ramen bowl. I got the mayu garlic jalapeno one. It was very tasty and filling. I liked all the fried garlic and charred peppers. Dirk has gotten the bibimbap bowl to go for me before and I enjoyed that as well. The server was very friendly and attentive and the decor is nice with plenty of single seating at the counter in addition to tables. When we ordered, we were asked if we wanted to add egg, which is the one negative for them. I wish they were all vegan, but I'll be back in any case to try the other dishes.

gets better with each bite - Edit
Cute little ramen place - parking lot on side and street metered parking. Big servings! I had the tantan ramen and at first I was thinking... this is a little bland - but about five bites in it had tons of flavor and was delicious. Love the veggies and toppings it comes with. My bowl was $12.99 I believe. Left FULL! Attentive service. Highly recommend :)
