Gokuku is one of a kind - Edit
Beyond Ramen is insane! I had to pace myself. The broth is so delicious. The bowl is packed with fresh vegetables, beyond meat and tender noodles. Just too good. A must try.

Gokoku Vegetarian Ramen Shop - Edit
Eating here was a great experience. The food was delicious and they are actually all vegan, I think, except for an egg that you have to special request for the ramen soups.

Hardy yummy vegan food - Edit
I really liked the consistency of the ramen and the ramen noodles. The staff was really nice also. My partner wasn’t as impressed but I’ll definitely be trying it again. The crispy rice vegan spicy tuna was pretty good. I picked fan favorites to be safe.

So Much Flavor and Texture!!! - Edit
I love sushi, but I'm always left wanting, comparing my simple and boring (avocado roll, cucumber roll, etc.) sushi to everything else on the menu that is creative, sauced, and sometimes even tempura fried. Gokoku's tempura California roll made my mouth so happy that I didn't want to drink anything for hours after my meal. It was full of flavor and warmth! Since everything is vegan, it was a pleasure to know I could order anything -- and they had quite a variety. My husband ordered the spicy udon ramen and, although it was super spicy (and we like spicy), the flavor was spot on. We also shared a spicy tofu appetizer, which was perfect in every way.
Read morePros: The food was full of flavor and creative menu, Pre-COVID prices, which is rare to find in LA, Small, but cute space

Vegan shrimp tempura roll was phenomenal! - Edit
So many options! Super loved my roll. Got the mushroom ramen. Broth was really good, but it wasn’t my favorite ramen. I will definitely go back for the sushi though.

A destination restaurant - Edit
This is my go to ramen spot. Wood Ear mushrooms come standard and therefore it is #1 in my heart stomach. The sushi is also bananas!! Super cute, fun, casual vibe. Come hungry. Come with friends so you can order too much and share everything. The chef owner is super inspiring with her fitness and bodybuilding journey and makes some of the best comfort food in the city.

Tasty spicy ramen - Edit
It’s so hard to find good vegan ramen.
Read moreI had the Tantan Men, which had a rich, spicy broth. I couldn’t find any of the supposed spicy miso tofu, but it was delicious anyway. I was surprised to find the restaurant almost completely empty during a weekday lunch hour.

Ramen/sushi - Edit
I was happy to try this place. Sushi was good. Ramen was extremely salty(level 12) where I didn't want to have the liquid. Service was ok, though she had to go back to the boss and to answer my simple questions.

Heathy, entirely meatless sushi and ramen dishes. The ramen bowls are large. Portions are generous. The sushi is delicious. You won't leave feeling hungry.

Vegan sushi?! Hell yeah! - Edit
I’ve never had better vegan sushi in my life. After having gone vegan 2 years ago, I found myself lusting for some really good sushi. Well, I sure as hell found it. The food is so good and, while expensive, absolutely worth every penny!

Got the Popcorn chicken roll, dynamite roll and beyond meat Raman.
Read moreLiterally a whole dish of vegan popcorn chicken on top of sushi rolls with v.crab and cucumbers in it. Very good texture between crunch chicken, cucumber, chewy rice and nori, great balance of flavor as well considering all the sauces on it.
Beyond meat ramen, it’s like a teriyaki sou sauce broth reman. Noodles texture was chewy to my liking, lots of fresh veggies. If you like beyond meat you will like this.
Dynamite roll, have to wait 20mins for it (said on the menu). It has popcorn v. Shrimps on top of sushi roll with cucumber and avocado. It was a little too messy and too many flavors for me with all the sauces and toppings. The v.crab meat and v.spicy tuna as a topping piled on top of the sushi roll was too much. The roll was a little too sweet as well from the eel sauce.
Food portion bigger then we expect 🥰 still ate everything.

Very good Crazy Spicy Udon - Edit
I enjoyed the Crazy Spicy Udon Noodle and the crunchy spicy tuna roll. The udon was spicy and filling the tuna roll was good (if not as “crunchy” as it should be). A good find!

I loved this restaurant. The food was so tasty and the staff were so lovely. Great experience but it was busy so you did wait a little bit. The ramen portions were large so we had leftovers the next day and was still delicious. #Veganuary

So Good You Can’t Tell It’s Vegan! - Edit
My wife and I are now hooked on Gokoku’s Vegetarian Ramen Shop. They have Vegan Ramen, and all kinds of options. The photo in today’s review will be of the Mushroom Ramen, however I’ve had the Beyond Ramen (they use Beyond Meat Products in that one, costs a touch more, but well worth it if you are truly hungry!).
Read moreAlso their Vegan Sushi - so good, you can’t tell you are not eating the real thing! Seriously, when I was an omnivore, Sushi was one of my food-groups, so I know what great sushi tastes like, so last night we had the Rainbow Roll. You have to understand, the Rainbow Roll is famous in the Japanese Sushi world, and what Gokoku has created, honestly rivals it, in a vegan form! You truly can’t tell you are not eating the real deal!
So, if you love Ramen and Sushi, you have to check this place out. Never had Ramen (we’re talking the legit stuff, not the crap you get in the markets) then this is a great way to try it out, seriously! #Veganuary
Pros: It’s Vegan, Sushi is amazing, Ramen is mind blowing
Cons: We don’t live close to it (lol)

Don’t miss this. - Edit
The spicy miso ramen was lovely. I wouldn’t put jicama in my ramen, but hey, it’s LA. The wood ear shrooms were cooked well and not chewy.
Read moreThe bibimbap was also quite good. The hard tofu was delish. Portions were plentiful.
Star of the show was the crispy rice (faux tuna) roll. I have never had a more flavorful vegan sushi roll in my life. 4 pieces, but you’ll want 40.
Pros: Authentic vibe, Fast service, Large portions

BOMB.COM - Edit
The first time I went here I was in love with majority of the sushi rolls they had on the menu. I loved the spider vegan roll, hot & hot spicy cream roll, tempura vegan shrimp roll, dynamite crab meat vegan roll, popcorn vegan roll, and the caterpillar roll. You should definitely try those, you won't regret it. I also loved there tantan men ramen, I like it very spicy so I had my spicy level adjusted which you can chose from level 1, 2, or 3. I will definitely come back again and again and AGAIN!

Not great. I went here the other week and got the ramen and one sushi roll. The ramen was flavorless and the sushi roll was overly sweet.

Delicious food, chaotic environment - Edit
Our experience was not bad, but I can see how some people would find it unpleasant. The place is small, and we arrived during a busy Monday evening dinner service. The staff was disorganized and overwhelmed, but hustling their hardest. We were seated and ordered, the sushi came out before the appetizer we ordered, and then the ramen, and then it turned out they had forgotten our appetizer (honestly no hard feelings we way over ordered food anyway!!). The important parts for me: the food was tasty, prepared fresh, relatively quickly, and the staff were kind. It was a bit chaotic and disorganized, so if that is a deal breaker for you I recommend just ordering take out! I will definitely be returning (hopefully on a less busy day) or ordering to go. Thanks for the amazing meal! We’ll be back!

food is incredibly good. - Edit
My first time here was on 06/21/21 and at first I had reservations about going because a lot of reviews complained about the waiting time. My experience on a Monday afternoon was pretty pleasant (except for the bursting sound of music inside). The appetizers were on the table in 10 minutes after being ordered and meanwhile we were served water, received the utensils, napkins and sauces. Immediately after getting the appetizers the two sushi’s ordered were servers. We had time to finish the sushi calmly, be over it and that’s when we were served with the ramen that was absolutely perfect. I would go back for sure.
